</p><p>
The <i>WorkWell Leaders Awards</i> recognise best practice standards in addressing systemic change at a societal level in the biggest catchment area, the workplace. WWL said that they are the only awards that break out the specific elements of workplace wellbeing that drive business outcomes across separate categories, and also recognise leadership behaviours that underpin cultural change within an organisation.
</p><p>
“Singapore needs to address mental health and wellbeing upstream more urgently in promotion and prevention, in addition to supporting caregivers and individuals with mental wellbeing challenges,” said Founder and Chairperson of WorkWell Leaders, Anthea Ong.</p><p> “With 70% of people in Singapore working and spending most of their waking hours at work, the workplace is and must be the catalyst to support workers, and in turn their families.”
</p><p>
In a prerecorded video address, President Tharman Shanmugaratnam urged corporate leaders to: "Make your company a role model, a beacon of a culture of empathy, a culture which provides proactive support to those with different shades of anxiety or depression. Make it an enjoyable place for everyone to work.” </p><p><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjr1FftfGaZ_NWSky8jPL4vfOXI-F8rgIwGwLrsk9iFnzWa9BJ1K-vJrXfsdPPrhjxBtiWCJ7JE2lRbCq4Yu1Dm2vYS7E8iAAftV_SB0n0aYVMTE5ZGbX9-aJ2LysAZswnTK0h2zmT6BV8z4HQQAKxLZZJVVpz-9nKU3hXUTpIdzhhEK7z9gwQ7CEaxerA/s1629/president%20tharman%20workwell%20awards.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="818" data-original-width="1629" height="201" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjr1FftfGaZ_NWSky8jPL4vfOXI-F8rgIwGwLrsk9iFnzWa9BJ1K-vJrXfsdPPrhjxBtiWCJ7JE2lRbCq4Yu1Dm2vYS7E8iAAftV_SB0n0aYVMTE5ZGbX9-aJ2LysAZswnTK0h2zmT6BV8z4HQQAKxLZZJVVpz-9nKU3hXUTpIdzhhEK7z9gwQ7CEaxerA/w400-h201/president%20tharman%20workwell%20awards.JPG" width="400" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Source: WorkWell Leaders. President Tharman urged the audience at the awards ceremony to make their companies role models for encouraging employee wellbeing.<br /></td></tr></tbody></table><br /></p><p>
To dive deep into the critical role of leadership in supporting mental wellbeing, WorkWell Leaders also announced a new national benchmark to be established that will demonstrate the intersection of the business risks of mental health, the role of leadership and culture on workplace wellbeing and the impact on business outcomes and stakeholder value. </p><p>The charity explained that existing global and local workplace mental health benchmarks, while useful, tend to hone in on perceptions of employee support at an individual level. The WorkWell Leaders benchmark will focus on the status of organisation-wide transformation that delivers worker wellbeing, organisational performance and long-term value for stakeholders.
</p><p>
“Whilst the <i>WorkWell Leaders Awards</i> winners are the vanguard of the urgent cultural shift needed in the workplace, the benchmark will establish the progress of institutional change that we are making collectively to help boards, CEOs and businesses chart their own strategic roadmaps for more resilient and happier employees and work communities for sustainable growth,” said Ong.
</p><p>
The <i>Be Well Awards</i> recognise leadership. The winners are:
</p><p>

This is awarded to the senior partner of the CEO (or equivalent) who has shown the strongest commitment to mental health and wellbeing throughout the organisation by integrating mental wellbeing into strategy through developing, implementing and evaluating programmes to drive better health and business outcomes.
</p><p>

</p><p>
Proceeds from the award ceremony will go towards funding the development of tools and programmes for leaders and organisations to take actions on their employees’ mental health and wellbeing, ultimately building thriving workplaces across Singapore.
</p><p>
Singaporeans place mental health as the biggest health problem (46%) facing the country today (Ipsos). Duke-NUS & IMH found that workplace anxiety and depression are costing the local economy S$15.7 B annually, or approximately 2.9% of GDP.
</p><p>
WorkWell Leaders is an action-oriented network of cross-industry private and public sector leaders. It began in 2018 as an informal working group and became a registered charity in Singapore in November 2022. The genders of the people sitting vs standing in the image were not specified in the prompt.<br /></td></tr></tbody></table><br />LinkedIn's latest data for the Asia-Pacific region (APAC) has found that women are significantly under-represented in leadership roles across Australia, India, and Singapore.
<p>Despite constituting 49% of Australia's workforce, only 35% of leadership positions are occupied by women, for instance, a statistic that LinkedIn says has been unchanged since 2020. Similar disparities persist in India (23%) and Singapore (38%).</p><p>In addition, the share of women being
hired into leadership over the last five years remains low: 38% in 2020 to 41% in
2024 in Australia; 24% in 2020 to 23% in 2024 in India; and 35% in 2020
to 38% in 2024 in Singapore. </p><p>The company recently surveyed hiring managers in the Asia-Pacific region and said that things could be changing. The survey has highlighted that transformative policies such as internal mobility, career progression, and flexible work arrangements could become more common.<br /><br />The survey found that female leaders are championing these transformative policies more than their male counterparts, though all leaders are moving in the same direction. In the year ahead, 54% of female leaders aim to emphasise career advancement and skill building, against 51% of male leaders. Moreover, 54% of female leaders prioritise internal mobility compared to 45% of male leaders, 50% advocate for flexible working policies (46% of male leaders said the same), and 38% believe that personalised flexible work arrangements are more attractive to employees compared to 31% of male leaders. <br /><br />More than half of female leaders (51%) are committed to prioritising career progression for employees, compared to 49% of male leaders, and 49% emphasise the importance of flexible work arrangements, compared to 45% of male leaders. In China, 20% of female leaders are more likely to believe that fully remote work arrangements based on personal preferences are more attractive to employees, compared to 5% of male leaders. <br /><br />“The lack of progress in female representation in leadership positions over the last five years in Australia, India, and Singapore is disappointing. While there has been some improvement in the share of women being hired into leadership roles, there is still much work to be done. </p><p>"However, there is reason for optimism, as female leaders are more likely to advocate for career advancement, internal mobility, and flexible work arrangements, which can benefit other women seeking to progress in their careers or balance professional and personal responsibilities. I believe these initiatives have the potential to shift the needle in terms of female representation in the workforce,” said Feon Ang, LinkedIn's APAC MD.</p><p>LinkedIn's research has further found that the top five skills identified by hiring managers in the Asia-Pacific
region emphasise not only AI knowhow, but also soft skills -
problem-solving abilities (35%), communications skills (27%), critical
thinking (25%), AI skills (19%) as well as IT and web skills (17%). </p><p>
Over the past eight years, LinkedIn said that both women and men have
shown an increase in the share of soft skills listed on their LinkedIn
profiles, but women have demonstrated a notably faster pace of growth.
This trend has led to a doubling of the gender
gap from 1.5 percentage points in 2016 to 3 percentage points in 2024 in favour of women when it comes to soft skills, and holds true across 70 countries. <br /><br /> LinkedIn suggested that shifting towards a model that prioritises skills over traditional experience could significantly increase the appearance of women in roles where they are traditionally under-represented. The company said that doing so could lead to a 24% increase in the talent pool of women compared to men globally.</p><script>

Ipsos weighs in<p>Market researcher Ipsos has found that six in 10 Singaporeans (62%) believe that when it comes to giving women equal rights with men in Singapore, things have gone far enough. A breakdown of the data revealed a higher agreement among men (68%) compared to women (55%) on this sentiment. <br /></p><p></p><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1XlheKa8pmybzM4NrU59B7TVqsvlm_Q5AdzHeYGInq3BUHt8G0Dgtb0NfZKouHZ0jNjJZw47Ggy-HMSdZDXUvKfNou-oBMLOXnVQicZ0rqDpj4TMleno-Adc5k4P5_cmlL9DWvbceMYGOWhWeynrV7mMQKRNCTadYhU8wYEcfgyW6I84-YXC1uj6Y490/s1272/ipsos%20equality.JPG" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1017" data-original-width="1272" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1XlheKa8pmybzM4NrU59B7TVqsvlm_Q5AdzHeYGInq3BUHt8G0Dgtb0NfZKouHZ0jNjJZw47Ggy-HMSdZDXUvKfNou-oBMLOXnVQicZ0rqDpj4TMleno-Adc5k4P5_cmlL9DWvbceMYGOWhWeynrV7mMQKRNCTadYhU8wYEcfgyW6I84-YXC1uj6Y490/w400-h320/ipsos%20equality.JPG" width="400" /></a></td></tr><tr align="center"><td class="tr-caption">Source: Ipsos research report: <i>International Women's Day 2024</i>. Respondents voted on the statement "There are actions I can take to help promote equality between men and women". Across a 31-country average, nearly two in three people (64%) agreed there are actions they can take to help promote equality between men and women. Around a quarter of people think there is nothing they can do (23%). There were no meaningful differences by gender.<br /></td></tr></tbody></table><br />The insights are from Ipsos' latest global study, carried out in collaboration with the Global Institute for Women’s Leadership at King’s College London for <i>International Women’s Day. </i>The survey was conducted among ~24,000 people across 31 countries, which includes ~500 Singaporeans.
<p>Ipsos looked deeper into the results, and found that almost half of Singaporeans (48%) think that we have gone so far in promoting women’s equality that we are discriminating against men. Notably, a significant 57% of Singaporean men echoed this sentiment on discrimination, as opposed to 29% of women. </p><p>While most Singaporeans (67%) admit that there are actions that they can take to help promote equality between men and women, there is still a fear among Singaporeans in advocating gender equality with 48% of Singaporeans saying that they are scared to speak out for the equal rights of women because of what might happen to them. In fact, more than half (58%) of Singaporeans agreed that men are being expected to do too much to support equality.<br /><br />In business, almost two-thirds of Singaporeans think that male and female leaders are equally good at creating a financially successful and innovative company (58% and 60% respectively). Among those with a preference, there is a significant difference between those that think male or female business leaders are better. In both aspects of creating a financially successful company and an innovative one, 16% think males are better, and only 8% think females are better.<br /><br />Respondents demonstrated a tendency to favour male bosses (36%) over female bosses (10%). However, the majority of respondents (51%) maintained a neutral stance, expressing no particular preference.</p><p>Katharine Zhou, Country Manager for Ipsos in Singapore commented: “It's revealing to see a majority believe that women's rights in Singapore have reached an adequate level, yet there is a significant gender difference in these perceptions. The concern expressed by 48% of respondents that the promotion of women’s equality might be discriminating against men is notable and warrants further examination.<br /><br />"It is also interesting to note the apprehension among Singaporeans about advocating for gender equality. This could be attributed to various sociocultural factors and shows us that while we have made progress, there is still work to be done."</p><p>Zhou noted that there is a tendency to associate certain roles and capabilities with specific genders. "This points to a potential unconscious bias in our society," she said. "These findings call for a more comprehensive dialogue on gender equality, one that transcends familiar arguments into an increased appreciation of the nuanced sentiments that are emerging.”</p><p>Global findings include:</p><p>
- Gen Z and Millennials are more likely to think agree that a man who stays home to look after his children is less of a man (25%, 27% respectively) than Gen X (20%) and Baby Boomers (11%). But within the generations there are differences in opinion. There is a 20-percentage point difference between Gen Z men (60%) and Gen Z women (40%) when it comes to thinking women’s equality discriminates against men.
</p><p>- Two in three (65%) across 31 countries agree that women won’t achieve equality in their country unless men taken actions to support women’s rights too.
</p><p>- Half (51%) of people across a 30-country average believe men are being expected to do too much to promote equality and fewer than two in five (39%) identify themselves as feminists.</p><script>

My hope for this course is that it provides this knowledge as well as an opportunity for investors to further refine their own investment principles." <br /></p><p>Foo Mee Har, CEO of WMI said: “With Singapore being a leading global wealth management hub, we are thrilled to introduce this first-of-its-kind investment education initiative. The <i>Dalio Market Principles Online Program </i>is designed to empower finance professionals and investors with a strong foundation for understanding the forces driving markets, enabling participants to build investment portfolios tapping drivers of differential asset returns, economic and currency cycles, and paradigm shifts. </p><p>"Most importantly, this programme is designed to fully equip those aspiring to establish successful careers in various sectors of the finance industry.” <br /></p><p>Participants will be able to ‘live through’ major market events as an
investor or policymaker, assess how their expectations for the future
and investment decisions measure up, and learn from mistakes. A <i>Portfolio Simulator </i>will enable them to create
and stress-test portfolios, evaluating their investment performance
across different macro scenarios with data from up to 40 major economies
over the last 120 years. <br /><br /> Providing participants with a
personalised learning experience, the <i>Program</i>’s <i>Generative AI
Tutor </i>will guide learners through the curriculum. The Tutor can answer questions, generate
quizzes, get feedback, and search through Dalio’s
writings over the past decades to help participants to learn at their own
pace. <br /><br /> In addition, participants will also gain opportunities to
learn, network and thrive with peers and leaders from the industry.
Through cohort-based activities such as discussion forums and live
online workshops, participants will be able to glean multiple
perspectives on investments and the financial markets from industry
players from diverse backgrounds. There will be opportunities to apply for a Dalio Fellowship in the future. <br /><br />Ideal participants include investors seeking to sharpen their insights, as well as finance
professionals focused on asset management, wealth

One unified platform means we can now offer our product to millions of people across Asia in an entirely new way, so that our customers can find jobs and talent more easily. </p><p>"This puts us in a stronger position, more than ever before, to realise our ambition of helping 500 million people develop their careers with five million companies in the region,” said Peter Bithos, CEO, Asia, SEEK. <i></i><br /><br /><a href="https://sg.employer.seek.com/page/hiring-compensation-benefits-report-2024?tracking=ilc-sg-com-ben-unification-event&utm_source=event&utm_medium=link&utm_content=ilc-comben" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Jobstreet by SEEK’s latest <i>Hiring, Compensation and Benefits 2024 Report</i></a><i> </i>has found that 83% of employers in Singapore reported difficulties in hiring skilled talent they need. Other research highlights included:<br /><br />- Forty-five percent of employers surveyed expressed confidence in the job market in 1H24, but there was a decline to 32% for 2H24. <br /></p><p>- Nearly half (49%) of employers were keen on increasing their permanent headcount and around 33% of employers also plan on increasing their contract staff for 1H24. Reasons cited included business expansion (54%) and difficulty in recruiting suitable full-time staff (34%). <br /><br />This indicates a growing need for employers to connect more effectively with talent across both Singapore and the Asia Pacific region (APAC), SEEK said. SEEK's consolidated platform offers a talent pool of over 40 million people across eight APAC markets, as well as 2.5 million employers. </p><p>SEEK also shared Jobstreet data on remote working. “Work from home” has consistently been one of the top 12 keywords that talents search for in the past two years, the company said.<br /><br />“In today’s employment landscape, there's a growing demand for specialised skillsets, like care economy skills or digital economy skills. In line with our goal of supporting both talent and hirers, we're excited to facilitate more tailored and better job matches to address the crux of the problem. Powered by SEEK’s cutting-edge AI, the ability to seamlessly match hirers and talents based on specific skills, job roles, and career aspirations is crucial in Singapore’s highly dynamic and evolving employment landscape,” said Chew Siew Mee, MD, Singapore, Jobstreet by SEEK. <br /><br />The new platform deploys AI models to assess talent suitability and provide highly personalised recommendations by processing data from various sources, including resumes, job ad descriptions and the employer’s past behaviours. This allows employers to hire fast and right. Employers can also expedite the talent shortlist process by adding AI-recommended screening questions in their job ads. <br /><br />Talent can now be better matched to jobs they are most qualified for based on their experience and skills with AI. SEEK's AI capabilities can also predict when a person is likely a strong candidate for a role by showing a top applicant badge. </p>

<p>
<i>International Women’s Day</i>, which takes place every year on March 8, was recognised by the United Nations in 1975. It is a day for celebrating the expanding opportunities for women to play impactful roles in peace, security, and development and to hold leadership positions in organisations and communities, as well as an opportunity to consider how to achieve further progress, Casio said.</p><p>
The watch features a shorter band length to fit more slender wrists with enhanced comfort. The bezel and band are made with bio-based resin produced from corn and other renewable organic resources, which is expected to help reduce environmental impact.</p><p>
As part of the brand’s efforts to reach out to more people, G-SHOCK has also launched <i>WOMEN OF OUR TIME</i>, a website dedicated to highlighting exceptional women across diverse fields who unabashedly challenge the status quo, and to exploring their relationships with time. Video features on the site examine the motivation that drives the creativity of 3D/CG artist YUKARI, G-SHOCK athlete and professional skateboarder Aori Nishimura, professional surfer Sakura Johnson, and professional skateboarder Cocona Hiraki. Behind the impressive accomplishments of these women is the hard work they have put in to overcome setbacks and their neverending spirit of challenge.
</p><p>The G-SHOCK brand stands for a world where women can aspire to be anything and anyone they want to be. due to the impact of AI, 91% of companies in the Asia-Pacific region
(APAC) say they plan to enhance their people’s skills and abilities this
year. </p><p>Last year, technology took centrestage – LinkedIn saw a 21x surge in
global English-language job postings mentioning <i>GPT </i>or <i>ChatGPT</i>;
this
year, LinkedIn said companies are directing their attention towards
talent development. Today, the top five skills that hiring managers in
APAC consider the most important in the era of AI are a combination of
both hard and soft skills – problem-solving abilities (35%),
communications skills (27%), critical thinking (25%), AI skills (19%)
and IT & web skills (17%). <br /><br />Feon Ang, VP, LinkedIn Talent
Solutions and MD, APAC said: “In the past year, the narrative was
dominated by technological advancements, particularly the integration of
AI into business workflows. The resulting surge in demand for AI
expertise reflected the challenges many businesses faced in navigating
this transformative shift and incorporating cutting-edge technologies
into their operations. </p><p>"However, we are now witnessing a
pronounced shift towards skills – both technical and soft skills – to
thrive in the era of AI. Investing in people’s growth is no longer a
perk but a strategic imperative, considering that our workforce is the
driving force behind companies’ success in an era shaped by both AI
innovation and collaboration with AI.” </p><p>Eighty-eight percent of
employers have observed substantial changes in the skills and
qualifications they prioritise in job candidates due to the pervasive
impact of AI and automation in their industries. Companies are placing
emphasis on candidates who possess not only AI expertise, but also soft
skills and a capacity for learning. <br /><br />According to LinkedIn’s latest <i>Workplace Learning Report</i>,
94% of learning and development (L&D) professionals in APAC believe
that human skills are increasingly becoming the most competitive in our
economy. In particular, ‘communication’ has topped <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/business/talent/blog/talent-strategy/linkedin-most-in-demand-hard-and-soft-skills" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"> LinkedIn’s most in-demand skills list for 2024</a>
across Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Philippines and
Singapore. LinkedIn said this is not surprising when AI tools free up
time for professionals to excel in jobs only people can do, like build
relationships and collaborate with others. <br /><br />In addition, 40% of
APAC hiring managers consider an individual's potential for growth and
ability to learn as the most important factor when evaluating internal
and external candidates. <br /><br /> Most of the companies in APAC (91%)
are also focusing on preparing their employees for the future world of
work by enhancing their skills and capabilities, believing that this
will lead to increased confidence and job security. In fact, APAC HR
professionals are offering online training programmes (44%) and internal
learning and development sessions focused on generative AI (43%) to do
so. <br /><br /> As companies increasingly invest in learning
opportunities, the focus on creating a culture of learning has soared,
becoming a top priority for L&D professionals in 2024 across all
APAC markets. In fact, 92% of them in APAC say they can show business
value by helping employees gain skills to move into different internal
roles. <br /><br />A recent survey of APAC leaders has revealed that
internal mobility is becoming an increasingly important factor in
attracting and retaining top talent within organisations. The survey
found that 48% of APAC leaders identified providing career progression
opportunities as their key priority this year. <br /><br />Nearly four in 10
(37%) hiring managers see career growth opportunities as key to
retaining top talent, along with competitive salary and benefits (39%).
In addition, 49% of APAC employers believe that highlighting
opportunities for career advancement and increasing internal mobility
are the top two ways to attract talent. These findings suggest that
organisations in the APAC region would do well to focus on internal
mobility as a key strategy for attracting and retaining top talent in
the years to come. <br /><br />To assist companies in their pivot towards a skills-centric approach, LinkedIn has introduced tools such as <i>Recruiter 2024, </i>LinkedIn’s AI-assisted recruiting experience. <i>Recruiter</i>
enables hirers to quickly access high-quality candidate recommendations
by using natural language search prompts and data from millions of
professionals and companies, ensuring they are able to shortlist talent
based on skills they need. These features will ramp to all APAC
customers in English-speaking markets from end February.</p><p>To
empower companies to build the skills they need for the next decade of
work, the company has launched AI-powered coaching in LinkedIn Learning –
a chatbot experience that offers real-time advice and tailored content
recommendations personalised for learners based on their job title,
career goal, and skills they follow. </p><p>This is currently available
to APAC customers in English-speaking markets. The company has also been
expanding its in-demand skill library, including AI courses. AI courses
in particular have seen a 5X uptick in learners.</p><p>In early March,
we will be launching new career development and internal mobility
features within LinkedIn Learning to help guide employees to critical
skills, develop skills that matter to grow, and connect to the best-fit
opportunity at their organisation. This will be available in English,
Hindi, Japanese, Indonesian and Malay, amongst others. <br /><br />Ang said:
"Business leaders recognise that they cannot rely on old talent
playbooks in this new era of work that’s being reshaped by AI, and where

Singapore Exchange Regulation (SGX RegCo) is proposing rule changes aimed at facilitating the restructuring process for SGX-listed companies under Singapore’s <i>Insolvency, Restructuring and Dissolution Act 2018 (IRDA).</i> The changes, if implemented, will enable issuers to restructure more efficiently and lessen the regulatory burden when they are trying to manage their financial affairs and meet time-sensitive milestones.
</p><p>
For instance, SGX RegCo is proposing that shareholders need not vote on a major disposal undertaken as part of judicial management or liquidation of the issuer under <i>IRDA</i>. This will align SGX Regco rules with <i>IRDA</i>, as well as allow for the quicker realisation of assets.
</p><p>
“<i>IRDA</i> aims to smoothen and speed up the restructuring of financially-distressed companies. This may increase the chances of white knight rescues and trading resumptions. These outcomes, if they materialise, will be of more value to shareholders than years of proceedings that will further deplete distressed companies’ scarce finances,” said Tan Boon Gin, CEO of SGX RegCo.
</p><p>
SGX RegCo also proposes to, among others:
</p><p>- Provide guidance to issuers on circumstances where a financially-distressed issuer can apply to SGX RegCo to allow its listed securities to continue or resume trading.</p><p>
- Require an immediate announcement when a financially-distressed issuer or any of its subsidiaries undergo a court-supervised moratorium.
</p><p>- Exclude a financially-distressed company under moratorium pursuant to <i>IRDA</i> from announcing its quarterly financial statements.
</p><p>
The public consultation is open till 22 March 2024 and can be found at https://regco.sgx.com/public-consultations.</p> <script>

</p><p>
Cecchini is back in March with collaborations in mind:</p><p>
<i>Bottega di Carna X Bold & Braised hawker popup</i></p><p><i>
6-7 March</i></p><p>
For two lunch sessions from 11.30 am to 2 pm, Cecchini and Bottega di Carna’s Head Chef Kenny Huang will team up with Chinatown neighbours Bold & Braised at Maxwell Food Centre for a popup partnership featuring an exclusive selection of paninis, each showcasing the art of using all parts of the animal.
</p><p>"This partnership is significant for us, as it showcases the depth of Singapore's hawker culture alongside a shared Italian and Singaporean commitment to sustainable cooking. We're excited to introduce Dario's celebrated paninis to Singapore, fusing our mutual wish to serve the community with dishes that honour every part of the animal,” shared Alvan Chew, founder of Bold & Braised.
</p><p>
“I want the future to be about appreciating and utilising the entire animal, not just the prized or conventional cuts of meat. Every cut, from nose to tail, has its unique flavour and texture, each with its own story to tell,” said Cecchini.</p><p>
“I’ve been lucky during my trips to Singapore to explore the hawker stalls and the ethos is exactly the same, everybody eats nose to tail, it’s part of the culture. When two cultures come together there’s a sort of communion and we learn from one another, we have to honour this and I’ve been so inspired by my trips to the hawkers in Singapore.
</p><p>
“I’m excited about this collaboration, Bold & Braised is one of the best. They are people after my heart, and they cook with love and respect. The message that I would like to pass on is that good food is for the community and that all cuts of meat are delicious.”
</p><p>
<i>Dates: 6 and 7 March 2024
</i></p><p><i>Time: 11.30 am – 2 pm
</i></p><p><i>Location: Maxwell Food Centre, Unit #01-43 (Outside MRT)

Chef Bakker's culinary style has garnered numerous accolades, including two Michelin stars and high ratings in <i>GaultMillau</i>. At Syrco BASÈ, Bakker continues to push the boundaries of culinary excellence, combining his culinary vision and values: traceability, transparency, and nature. </p><p>
“I have the utmost respect for Chef Syrco, and I could not be more excited than to join forces with him for a special evening of respect, love, creativity, and collaboration,” Cecchini said.

</p><p>
Designed for critical deliveries such as urgent documents, high-value electronics, medical supplies, and perishable foods, the service features a navigation system crafted from satellite communications with dual-city 5G roaming, real-time tracking and advanced security protocols. </p><p>The drones used for the service can carry up to 30 kg and achieve speeds of 150 km/h within a four-hour flight span.
The initiative will initially focus on establishing delivery routes from Singapore to Johor Bahru and Iskandar Malaysia, with commercial operations starting in Q324.
</p><p>
“Organisations in the logistics, cargo delivery and freight services sector stand to gain a double-digit percentage improvement in overall productivity and cost. Drone deliveries are also beneficial for the environment with emissions and carbon footprint being reduced by up to 100% and 80% respectively,” said Paul Yam, CEO of DroneDash.

<p>
“With the formation of the recent Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ), we are proud to play a part in strengthening economic connectivity between the two regions,” said Mudzakkir Hatta, CEO of Aerodyne.

Distribution of ResumeLooters' compromised websites by country and sector.<br /></td></tr></tbody></table><br />Group-IB, a creator of cybersecurity technologies to investigate, prevent, and fight digital crime, has identified a large-scale malicious campaign primarily targetting job search and retail websites of companies in the Asia-Pacific region. </p><p>
The cybercriminal group, dubbed ResumeLooters by Group-IB’s Threat Intelligence unit, successfully infected at least 65 websites between November and December 2023 through <i>SQL</i> injection and cross-site scripting (<i>XSS</i>) attacks. Most of the gang’s victims are in India, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, mainland China, and Australia.
</p><p>
Group-IB said ResumeLooters has stolen 2,079,027 unique emails and other records, such as names, phone numbers, dates of birth, as well as information about job seekers’ experience and employment history. The stolen data has been offered for sale by ResumeLooters in <i>Telegram</i>. Group-IB has notified identified victims.
</p><p>
Operating since the beginning of 2023, ResumeLooters has been using penetration testing frameworks and open-source tools to inject malicious <i>SQL</i> queries into 65 job search, retail and other websites and retrieve a total of 2,188,444 database rows of information. Of these rows, 510,259 were user data from employment websites.
</p><p>
Over 70% of the known compromised websites are in the Asia-Pacific region. The gang is primarily focused on India (12 victims), Taiwan (10), Thailand (9), Vietnam (7), mainland China (3), Australia (2), the Philippines (1), South Korea (1), and Japan (1). However, compromised websites have also been identified outside of the region.
</p><p>
Group-IB’s researchers have also identified two <i>Telegram</i> accounts associated with the threat actor. Both accounts have been used to offer the stolen data for sale in Chinese-speaking Telegram groups dedicated to hacking and penetration testing.
</p><p>
“In less than two months, we have identified yet another threat actor conducting <i>SQL</i> injection attacks against companies in the Asia-Pacific region,” said Nikita Rostovcev, Senior Analyst at the Advanced Persistent Threat Research Team, Group-IB. </p><p>
“It is striking to see how some of the oldest yet remarkably effective SQL attacks remain prevalent in the region. However, the tenacity of the ResumeLooters group stands out as they experiment with diverse methods of exploiting vulnerabilities, including <i>XSS</i> attacks. Additionally, the gang’s attacks cover a vast geographical area.”
</p><p>
According to Group-IB, cybercriminals have been increasingly interested in the Asia-Pacific region. In December 2023, Group-IB reported on GambleForce, a cybercriminal group which conducted over 20 SQL injection attacks against gambling and government websites in the region. Unlike GambleForce, which focuses solely on SQL injections, ResumeLooters has a more diverse modus operandi.</p><p>
In addition to SQL injection attacks, ResumeLooters successfully executed <i>XSS</i> scripts on at least four legitimate job search websites. On one of these websites, the attackers implanted a malicious script by creating a fake employer profile. As a result, the attackers were able to steal the <i>HTML</i> code of the pages visited by the victims, including those with administrative access. Malicious <i>XSS</i> scripts were also intended to display phishing forms on legitimate resources. It is believed that the attackers’ main goal was to steal admin credentials. However, no evidence of successful theft of administrative credentials was found.
</p><p>
To protect against injection attacks, Group-IB suggested that companies implement comprehensive input validation and sanitisation on both the client and server sides. Performing regular security assessments and code reviews will help to identify and mitigate injection vulnerabilities.
</p><p>
The comprehensive examination of ResumeLooters’ malicious infrastructure, tools, and tactics, along with the full list of indicators of compromise, is available in Group-IB’s latest <a href="https://www.group-ib.com/blog/resumelooters/?utm_source=press_release&utm_campaign=resumelooters&utm_medium=organic" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">blog post</a>.</p><script>

The design concept aims for a tranquil oceanic atmosphere. The furniture, crafted from a mix of natural wood finishes, brings a sense of warmth and cosiness, complemented by a colour palette that blends beachy tones with ocean shades. Light grey sofas and navy blue and yellow accents create a contemporary and inviting atmosphere. </p><p>
Bruno Cristol, GM, Crowne Plaza Changi Airport and Area GM, IHG Hotels & Resorts in Singapore, said that the changes aim to cater to the needs of the modern business traveller, "whose concept of business travel extends beyond work to encompass a blend of work and life". </p><p>"As the world’s leading airport hotel, it’s vital that we continue to adapt and elevate the guest experience. We look forward to maintaining our best-in-class position and welcoming guests from around the world,” he said. <br /></p><p>
Key changes include:</p><p>
<i>Additional Premier rooms and suites</i></p><p>Twelve new guest rooms bring the room inventory to 575, three with direct pool access. </p><p>The suites feature a walk-in wardrobe, spacious living and dining areas, a convenient kitchenette with an induction stove and a generously-sized bathroom. Each bathroom has a bathtub, a separate standing shower, and a vanity area.
</p><p>
<i>Revamped all-day dining restaurant</i></p><p>Now relocated to Level 1, the new Italian restaurant - Allora, helmed by Executive Chef Stefano Sanna, combines the energy of Milan with the coastal charm of Southern Italy. The Northern section draws inspiration from Tuscany's hills and medieval cities, featuring a central metallic mosaic pizza oven and industrial Milanese elements. Outdoor spaces are adorned with striped parasols, suggesting a Southern Italian seaside promenade. With a seating capacity of 264, Allora's spaces include a dining room, lobby lounge and bar, and an alfresco terrace.</p><p>Allora currently serves contemporary Italian cuisine and is slated to become the only Italian restaurant offering weekend brunch buffets in the Changi Airport area from Q2224. The buffet will feature handcrafted pizzas, artisanal pastas, and antipasti. </p><p><i>New meeting spaces</i></p><p>The previous all-day dining space is now a 352-sq m multifunction room, Camellia. This venue is equipped with state-of-the-art audiovisual technology, and expands the hotel's capacity for hosting meetings and events. <br /><br /><i>Transformed Club Lounge and Fitness Centre</i><br /><br />The former bar space has been transformed into a cosy, contemporary Club Lounge while the fitness centre has been refitted with the latest equipment. </p>

Located in the heart of Orchard Road, the 4,900 sq ft space presents state-of-the-art retail solutions that elevate the experience of customers who can shop, create, and be entertained. The new store is part of Singtel Singapore’s renewed commitment to enhance and improve the customer experience.<p>
The launch of this flagship store is a significant milestone for Singtel, as it has been located at the
Comcentre for the past 22 years. In a tribute to the previous store, several items were upcycled and
reused, such as furniture in the customer service area. These and other environmentally-friendly
features in the store, like energy-efficient fittings and recycling bins for the public to deposit their e-
waste, demonstrate Singtel’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2045.
</p><p>Ng Tian Chong, CEO, Singtel Singapore, said, “Every aspect of this store is a reflection of our hyperfocus on customer-centricity because our customers are our top priority. In keeping with this focus, we’re using more technology tools like data analytics to help us better understand the needs of our customers because we want to deliver the right products and services to them in the most frictionless manner possible. We want everyone who visits our store to feel valued and empowered.”</p><p>
Catering to both consumers and small businesses requiring mobile, broadband and cybersecurity solutions, service delivery processes have been streamlined by deploying the latest digital technologies that shorten waiting times and offer more customisation with predictive analytics. Trained staff are also stationed throughout the store to provide onsite support.
</p><p>There is a livestreaming booth for content creators and entrepreneurs to unleash their creativity as well as spaces for partner brands to engage and educate customers on their products and services. To cater to audiences like Millennials and Gen Zs, the new store will feature the world’s first TikTok Creator House in a telco shop. The creator house is a
professional soundproofed studio equipped with 4K HD cameras, wireless microphones and custom-built
production servers for the production of high-quality content. The facility is open to the public, and can be booked via Singtel’s website.</p><p>"We are thrilled to be working with a beloved brand like SingTel to bring our TikTok Creator House to life, a space where technology powers creativity, making video creation seamless. </p><p>"At the TikTok Creator House, we're looking forward to having local creators and businesses come together to create, to learn how to make engaging content and network with other like-minded creators here in Singapore," said Vanessa Brown, Head of Business Development APAC, TikTok.<br /></p><p>The store also features CASETiFY’s latest
collection of sustainable yet protective phone cases and accessories, including limited-edition designs
by Singaporean photographer Andy Yong - a first in Singapore. Fans of the brand can create
customised pieces within a day here.</p><p>
“We’ve reimagined the store for the younger demographic and growing community of digital natives –
who can use the tools, products, and facilities on offer to express themselves creatively. For those
making careers on social media, they can even build their brands or services here. When customers
come to our store, it will not be just a shopping trip but an experience – a place where they can connect,
collaborate and co-create,” said Anna Yip, Deputy CEO, Singtel Singapore.
</p><p>
Getting served has been made even easier. Visitors can get a queue number
by scanning a QR code. As they wait their turn, they can browse the e-catalogue and indicate
which products and services they are interested in. This information is then channelled to Singtel staff
to better understand the customers’ needs before meeting them, allowing for more personalised discussions.
</p><p>The store has floor-to-ceiling curved LED screens that are used to create different moods depending
on what products are being showcased at the time. The multipurpose area in the middle of the store
can be further configured to support product launches, keynotes, and even masterclasses for the
public. </p><p>
The Singtel flagship store has always
been the only outlet to offer all business-related services in one place. A dedicated small and medium sized business (SMB) service area has been set up, offering solutions like mobile,
broadband, and cybersecurity to support their corporate needs. </p><p><i>Explore</i></p><p><b>Singtel Shop 313@Somerset</b><br />313 Orchard Road #03-31/36<br />313@Somerset<br />Singapore 238895 <br /></p><p>

The meeting spaces are equipped with advanced AV technology, including a
15 x 5 m LED screen and a curved LED. Natural daylight permeates the
facility, including at the Harmony ballroom, which has an 8 m high
ceiling. The Radient Junior ballroom boasts a 6 m-high ceiling with
Bangkok's only skylight, connected to a rooftop bar. </p><p>
The facility is <i>LEED</i>-certified, incorporating sustainability practices such as electric vehicle chargers, light-coloured pavements, high-efficiency plumbing fixtures, and a photovoltaic system. Non-toxic building materials, LED bulbs, and recycled plastic carpets ensure an ecofriendly environment. Notable features include a 2.5-ton car lift, a VIP resting room, dedicated makeup facilities, and a hair and makeup room.
</p><p>
The BDMS Wellness Complex also hosts a BDMS Wellness Clinic and the Movenpick BDMS Wellness Resort Bangkok. The Mövenpick BDMS Wellness Resort Bangkok is designed to foster relaxation and serenity. The research, which included responses from the Asia Pacific region, uncovered three main challenges: escalating costs, workforce and talent management, and the evolving ESG (environmental, social, and governance) reporting agenda.</p><p>
Aleksandra Zaronina-Kirillova, head of SME at ACCA said: “As we enter the new year, SMEs are
grappling with a wide spectrum of challenges, but our findings are also a clarion call for SMEs to
embrace strategic innovation. By addressing these challenges head-on, SMEs can unlock new growth
avenues and strengthen their market position."</p><p>
The report emphasised the need for tailored strategies that can help SMEs navigate the evolving
business landscape successfully, including embracing innovation, optimising resource management, and
staying ahead of regulatory changes.</p><p>
Key findings include:</p><p>
<i>Cost pressures and the economy</i></p><p>
SMEs face significant increases in utility prices and supplies, with
58% of businesses highlighting higher costs as their top concern. A quarter of respondents said utility
prices had surged by over 20%. This challenge underscores the need for effective cost
management and innovative financial strategies.</p><p>
<i>Workforce and talent management</i></p><p>The study identified a rise in job vacancies and challenges
in filling specific roles. Increased job vacancies for professional workers were reported by 31% of
businesses, and 14% were unable to find suitable candidates for clerical workers, technicians, and
service and sales workers. This calls for a renewed focus on talent acquisition, skill development, and
retention strategies.</p><p>
<i>SMEs and the ESG agenda</i></p><p> Nearly 50% of SMEs are now required to provide ESG information for compliance purposes,
highlighting the growing importance of sustainable practices. However, the report identifies a gap in the
ability to generate and manage this data, presenting both a challenge and an opportunity for SMEs.
</p><p>Zaronina-Kirillova added: "In these testing times, SMEs must pivot towards innovative
strategies to navigate the complexities of cost pressures, talent retention, and sustainable practices. Our
research not only identifies the critical hurdles but also offers a roadmap for SMEs to emerge stronger
and more agile.”
</p><p>The roadmap recommends the adoption of digital technologies, enabling SMEs to streamline operations,
reduce costs, and enhance productivity. It also emphasises the importance of embracing sustainable
practices, not only as a regulatory compliance measure but also as a strategic move to attract new
business and customers.</p><p>
It also encourages SMEs to develop and retain top talent through continuous learning and development
opportunities.
</p><p>
In this rapidly evolving landscape, the role of accountants, especially those in small and medium-sized
practices (SMPs) can be pivotal, the ACCA said. Accountants are not just financial stewards but strategic advisers who
can guide SMEs through complex challenges such as managing rising operational costs, navigating new
regulatory requirements, and implementing effective ESG practices. Their expertise in financial
management and strategic planning is crucial for SMEs to optimise resources, identify cost-saving
opportunities, and ensure compliance with evolving regulations, the ACCA pointed out.

The POCO X6 Pro offers flagship-level performance.<br /></td></tr></tbody></table><br />POCO, targeted at tech enthusiasts, is kicking off 2024 with three new midrange mobile devices designed for gaming, streaming and social media.
<p>The new POCO X6 Pro and POCO X6 update the popular X-series with the latest processors and technologies. They deliver an enhanced display for smooth and immersive visuals and a triple-camera setup for content creation. The POCO M6 Pro features flagship-level features with a premium display, large-capacity storage and turbo charging.<br /><br />
“After a stellar 2023 in which POCO celebrated our fifth anniversary and met fans and partners at our first-ever <i>POCO Carnival </i>held in Thailand, we are once again shaking up the smartphone market. Providing users with everything they need and nothing they don’t, we are making it possible for POCO fans to level-up to premium performance and features fine-tuned for the ultimate in full-frame gaming action, movie watching and social media content creation,” said Angus Ng, Head of Product Marketing at POCO Global.</p><p>“These are the flagship-level technologies that our users have told us will help them maximise their digital experiences in 2024 and beyond.” </p><p>
The new POCO X6 Pro unleashes flagship chipset, memory and storage together with big battery power to meet the needs of a new species of hardcore gamer – a ‘SPEED-CIES’ that comes with faster loading, smooth operation and instant responses.
</p><p>
The new Dimensity 8300-Ultra chipset that sets a new speed record for a POCO device with an<i> AnTuTu</i> benchmark of 1,464,2281. This premium processor delivers faster, smoother performance and improved power efficiency.
</p><p>
“As we debut the MediaTek Dimensity 8300-Ultra on the POCO X6 Pro, consumers will have the opportunity to enjoy a full range of premier experiences and accessibility features like generative AI capabilities and flagship-grade memory,” said Dr Yenchi Lee, Deputy GM of MediaTek’s Wireless Communications Business Unit. </p><p>
“We have been working closely with POCO to optimise our chipset to provide adaptive gaming technology, fast connectivity and low-power savings to unlock the possibilities of premium smartphone experiences for a new generation of users.”</p><p>
The POCO X6 Pro offers up to 12 GB of memory and up to 512 GB of storage for smooth use and serious multitasking. The device also comes with the upgraded <i>WildBoost Optimization 2.0 </i>for fast and fluid gaming experiences.
</p><p>
Both of the new POCO X6 Series devices also boast a 6.67" CrystalRes Flow AMOLED screen that delivers lifelike action in games or video and vivid colours even under bright sunlight. With ultra-slim bezels, the X6 Pro’s high screen-to-body ratio of 94% ensures a full-screen experience and a sleek, modern aesthetic.
</p><p>
The X6 Pro is equipped with a 64 MP triple camera setup and new features, including <i>OIS</i> (optical image stabilisation) to help users capture crystal clear photos during motion2. There is also motion capture and motion tracking3.
</p><p>The POCO X6 breaks records as a mid-range phone thanks to its Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 Mobile Platform, plus enhanced memory and storage, as well as a powerful battery. </p><p>Deepu John, Senior Director Product Management, Qualcomm Technologies said: “Sporting the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, the POCO features 4 nm technology for fast and robust performance with great power efficiency. </p><p>"This remarkable device benefits from a strong performance boost compared to the previous generation and boasts <i>Snapdragon Elite Gaming</i> features for incredible gaming experiences. Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 is also packed with AI capabilities such as image noise reduction, deep learning face detection for better facial recognition, AI-based echo cancellation and noise suppression that leverages the <i>Qualcomm AI Engine</i> to make consumer experiences even more seamless and efficient.”
</p><p>
Upgraded display and camera capabilities round out the POCO X6 offering. The phone’s 64 MP main camera introduces flagship-quality <i>OIS</i> while an additional 8 MP ultrawide lens and 2 MP micro camera offer room for exploration. The creative-minded can go wild with the portfolio of filters and frames, which include new retro and scenery filters.
</p><p>
Weighing 181 g5, the device is powered by a 5,100 mAh (typ) battery that supports 67 W turbo charging. This allows the device to power up to full capacity in 44 minutes6.</p><p>
Another record-breaker in the midrange smartphone for its price bracket, the POCO M6 Pro lets users dive into the action with on-the-go entertainment and social media browsing.
</p><p>
The first-in-series 120 Hz Flow AMOLED display with ultrathin bezels offers full-screen, top-quality viewing that is more immersive and easy on the eyes7. Users will enjoy smoother scrolling, more fluid animation and a better experience during fast-paced games and video watching. The display also boasts 16x super-resolution touch – a highly-accurate touchscreen that is significantly smoother and steadier than a standard screen, allowing greater speed and precision for next-level gameplay8.
</p><p>
POCO’s latest flagship-level offering has an upgraded 64 MP triple camera and inbuilt <i>OIS</i> and <i>EIS</i> (electronic image stabilisation) to help users take and share stunning photos and videos9. <i>OIS</i> is rare in a mid-range phone, reducing camera shake and blur for professional results. For more distant subjects, a 2x in-sensor zoom allows users to capture sharper and more detailed images from afar.
</p><p>
The POCO M6 Pro is the first POCO phone to deploy the Helio G99-Ultra chipset, considered one of most powerful chipsets on the market at its price segment. It is designed for entertainment and delivers powerful performance at smooth frame rates. Another first for the M-series are the memory capacities - the POCO M6 Pro supports up to 12 GB RAM and 512 GB ROM 10. </p><p>Charging is faster than ever too, with the first-in-series 67 W turbocharging. </p><p>

as Regus and Spaces, has shared the top 10 trends that are set to shape global working in 2024.
According to the company, hybrid working is set to continue: ongoing
academic research by Stanford University and other leading institutes has predicted that around a third
or more white-collar workers will continue to work in a hybrid way in the long term.
<p><i>Chief Hybrid Officers</i></p><p>
The widespread adoption of hybrid work has led to the emergence of a new C-suite role—the Chief
Hybrid Officer (CHO). Companies such as Meta, Doist and GitLab have already hired their own, and we will
see more companies appointing CHOs in 2024 to oversee and optimise the hybrid work environment.
They will balance the needs of in-office and remote employees, ensuring productivity, and navigating
logistical challenges effectively.
</p><p>Another new role has also emerged. The Office Synchroniser is responsible for optimising office space and ensuring effective collaboration.
</p><p><i>A renewed focus on culture</i></p><p>
In a hybrid working world, companies must find a balance between empowering employee flexibility and
ensuring regular and adequate time for collaboration. This balance needs to ensure that, despite varied
work settings, there is a cohesive framework encouraging open communication and a shared
commitment to the company's mission. Embracing hybrid working not only provides flexibility but also
encourages a dynamic and inclusive culture, allowing diverse perspectives to thrive and contributing to
enhanced innovation and employee satisfaction.
</p><p><i>Greater expectations from employers</i></p><p>
Innovative benefits packages will become mainstream and will be pivotal in the race for talent in 2024.
Benefits such as fertility support, pet care and time off for caring responsibilities may become
commonplace, as employers are forced to take a more holistic look at the needs of their hybrid
workforce.</p><p>
There will also be heightened expectations from employees that businesses provide benefits packages
and company polices that support the wellbeing of their workforce. Whether it’s increased parental
leave, progressive childcare policies or taking action to address burnout with appropriate mental health
support, businesses will need to be more attuned to the evolving needs and demands of their workforce
if they want to retain their best people.
</p><p><i>The company's role in childcare
</i></p><p>
As hybrid work continues to gain momentum, increased employer support for families will be a gamechanger for parents seeking more balance between their professional and home life.
</p><p>Businesses will increasingly have a role to play, recognising the challenge of childcare and providing
support more for working parents is essential to maintain a diverse and skilled workforce. In fact,
research from IWG highlighted how greater flexibility is allowing workers to spend more time with family
and hobbies, with three in four (75%) hybrid workers using time previously spent commuting on more
meaningful activities.
</p><p><i>The lunch hour</i></p><p>
With an increasing number of workers seeking a healthier work/life balance, the year ahead will witness
a resurgence of lunch breaks dedicated to in-person interactions.
</p><p>The flexibility of hybrid work will help more workers reclaim their lunch hour to grab food with coworkers
and clients and rekindle in-person collaboration and relationships, in turn fostering a more positive
workplace, creativity and camaraderie amongst hybrid working team members.
</p><p><i>Neurodiversity</i>
</p><p>Accommodating neurodivergent team members will be an important pillar of employer DE&I (diversity, equity, and inclusion) strategies
in the near future. This shift is reflected in the evolving design of office spaces, which now takes into
consideration the specific needs of neurodivergent workers including addressing issues such as noise
and lighting, acknowledging the significant impact these factors can have on the wellbeing of these
employees. As companies adapt for greater inclusivity, a proactive approach to inclusive design will
ensure that workplaces are supportive and comfortable for all employees, improving productivity in the
process.
</p><p><i>Unretirement</i></p><p>
Hybrid work has given more flexibility to older generations in particular, allowing them to stay in the
workforce – or coming back from a previous exit for 'unretirement'. Bain and Company estimate that
by 2030, around 150 million global jobs will shift to workers aged 55 and over. In 2024, this phenomenon
will gather pace, with a growing number of experienced professionals from older generations embracing
this concept and, for the first time in their careers, exploring the benefits of hybrid working, helping
establish more diverse workforces and intergenerational collaboration.
</p><p><i>Greener work</i></p><p>
Robust hybrid working policies are playing a pivotal role in cutting carbon emissions; recent research
by IWG and Arup suggests that hybrid working can reduce carbon emissions as a result of a dramatic reduction in commuting.
</p><p>In an era where sustainability is paramount, we are going to see businesses looking for more innovative
ways to cut their carbon emissions in 2024. Businesses are increasingly looking for buildings with green
leases, aiming to reduce carbon emissions and enhance their environmental performance. In 2024, we
will see these leases go beyond energy efficiency, encompassing water conservation, waste reduction,
and indoor air quality.
</p><p><i>Hybrid work: the top employee benefit
</i></p><p>The commercial benefits of hybrid to businesses, given the meaningful savings companies can make
by adopting the working model, are clear. Stanford University's Professor Nicholas Bloom has long
talked about hybrid working being a win/win for both employers and employees, commenting that it’s a
“no brainer to increase profit”. And data supports this thinking; 81% of CFOs surveyed by IWG see
hybrid working as a cost saver and more than two-thirds (67%) say their business will continue to work
in the hybrid model, splitting time between the company’s headquarters, a local office/workspace and
home in five years.
</p><p>But that’s not all; hybrid working is becoming the most sought-after benefit for employees too, already
impacting business’s ability to access and keep the best talent. IWG’s own research shows that almost
three quarters of workers (72%) would only consider a job that offers the ability to work flexibly, while
71% would be unwilling to accept a position that involved a long commute.
</p><p><i>Increasing presence of AI</i></p><p>
2024 will see a clear shift in adoption and usage of AI in everyday life, and companies who invest in
helping their people understand how AI can be a benefit to hybrid working, will reap the rewards;
preparing employees for unforeseen roles and technologies should become a priority for businesses,
while helping them understand that using AI effectively can lessen time spend on administrative tasks,
leaving more room for thinking and collaborating together.
</p><p>Mark Dixon, Founder and CEO of IWG, said: “The migration to hybrid is one of the most
important forces at play in the world today as workers increasingly embrace the opportunity to work
locally, bringing significant opportunities to the economies of local communities as well as creating a
better work-life-balance for employees.
</p><p>“Hybrid working is radically reshaping how we work. Businesses that embrace it will attract the best
talent and get the most out of their workforces all while reducing their own bottom line. This pace of
change will continue in 2024, with an increasing number of employees and businesses understanding
the clear financial, cultural and sustainability benefits that flexible working models can bring.” </p><p><i>Explore</i></p><p>Read the white paper at https://assets.iwgplc.com/image/upload/v1702983436/IWG/MediaCentre/IWG_White_Paper_Future_of_Work_Trends_Forecast_2024.pdf (PDF)<i> </i> <br /></p>
