British Airways makes loyalty programme more attractive

British Airways has enhanced its On Business loyalty programme to help small and medium sized businesses in Singapore to get more value out of their travel budgets.

New members can enjoy a welcome bonus of triple On Business Points on the first six eligible flights within the first 12 months of new membership*.

On Business brings together the frequent flyer programmes of British Airways, Iberia and American Airlines to enable customers to collect and spend on all three programmes under one scheme. The new and improved On Business programme, which in 2014 helped businesses save £34 million1 on flights, rewards points based on spend rather than distance travelled or number of flights.

Other new benefits include:

+Cash discounts on selected flights
+Three Tier ranking system to boost earning power
+Offers and bonuses for members
+An online account management tool

The new On Business is more flexible. Members who want immediate savings can choose an upfront discount if that works better for their company than collecting points. A three-tier system is being introduced, based on the amount customers spend each year. As users progress through the tiers, their earning power increases.

In addition, members of British Airways Executive Club or Iberia Plus will benefit from double points every time they fly as they are rewarded in both schemes.

To help members track their progress and savings, On Business has also launched a new website to make it easier to maximise earning and redeem points. The website can also generate customised reports to provide a view of travellers, destinations and points earned.

British Airways' Robert Williams, Head of Asia Pacific sales, said: “Our research shows that members want a programme that is simple to understand, helps them manage travel costs and rewards them for their spend. The changes we are making is to do exactly that - a simple way of earning points based on spend, a simple way of delivering immediate savings through discounts and tiers to reward loyalty.

“We understand the needs of small and medium-size businesses; the new programme will allow them to integrate the networks and benefits of all three airlines to help stretch travel budgets. The revitalised On Business is a solution that will better meet the needs of this dynamic and growing sector.”

British Airways' route network currently serves more than 190 destinations in 80 countries. It operates daily flights between Singapore and Sydney.
