Mandarin Orchard Singapore is all set up for Chinese New Year

Mandarin Orchard Singapore has unveiled a lineup of delicacies and takeaway goodies to celebrate Chinese New Year.

There are auspicious set meals at two Michelin-starred Shisen Hanten by Chen Kentaro, and special Lunar New Year offerings at Triple Three. Signature delicacies are available for takeaways.

Shisen Hanten by Chen Kentaro

Guests can choose from seven auspiciously-themed set menus—from the eight-course Prosperity menu at S$538++ for four persons, to the Majestic menu that features nine courses, at S$2,988++ for 10 persons.

New dishes on the menu this year include roasted brown rice-fed chicken topped with Garlic and braised “rat noodle” with lobster in superior broth. The chicken dish features a new breed of chicken which is 100% organically fed with brown rice, yielding meat that is tender and juicy with a rich flavour profile.

And in celebration of the year of the rat, the culinary team created a dish using 'rat noodles', a type of rice noodle that is pointed at one end. The noodles are  also known as 'bee tai mak', or 'silver-needle noodle'. The noodles and fresh lobster are braised together using a broth that was simmered for five to six hours, delivering on flavour with every mouthful.
