HP rolls out new PCs with industrial designs and Audio by Bang & Olufsen

HP has announced new premium PCs that feature one-of-kind form factors in industrial designs, high-resolution displays and Audio by Bang & Olufsen. Each PC is equipped with powerful processors and delivers Windows 101 experiences.

HP has enhanced its highly recognised premium convertible PC, the HP Spectre x360, to deliver ultra-thin design, long battery life, fast boot times and great Wi-Fi connectivity. The 13.3" diagonal Ash Silver with Copper accented HP Spectre x360 limited edition celebrates Bang & Olufsen’s 90th anniversary.

The device has been updated with 6th Gen Intel Core i5 and i7 processors2, Audio by Bang & Olufsen and a fast SSD of up to 512GB6. Weighing 1.44 kg3 and 15.9 mm thin, the HP Spectre x360 with the Quad HD display7 will last up to 12 hours on one battery charge8.

The HP Spectre x360 takes advantage of new experiences enabled by Windows 10 like Continuum5. Customers can expect fluid and seamless transitions between notebook mode for work, stand mode for viewing entertainment, tent mode for touchscreen entertainment, or tablet mode for on the go.

The HP Spectre x360 also supports both full-size HDMI and mini-DisplayPort 1.2 ports to allow customers to display content across multiple screens. To accommodate devices and accessories, the HP Spectre x360 has three USB 3.0 ports that have HP USB Sleep and Charge so customers can charge their devices on the go even when in sleep mode.

“The HP Spectre x360 established HP as a leader in the premium category because it directly addresses the needs of customers,” said Serena Yong, Managing Director, HP Singapore. “We are excited to extend our premium portfolio with new PCs that have a number of firsts - including a detachable with a metal keyboard featuring full-travel keys and our thinnest notebook ever – designed to give customers amazing experiences.”

For customers who prefer a tablet-first design without compromising on productivity, HP is unveiling the HP Spectre x2. It is the first detachable to offer audio tuned by Bang & Olufsen for both dual speakers on the tablet and keyboard.

This new premium PC doubles up as a thin and light tablet and an uncompromised notebook. With up to 10 hours of battery life8, the tablet weighs 800 g3 and is 8 mm thin. The tablet with keyboard is 1.22 kg3 and is 13.15 mm thick, making the HP Spectre x2 the thinnest 2-in-1 PC HP has ever made.

With 6th Gen Intel Core m processors2, the HP Spectre x2 is fanless and houses a SSD of up to 512GB6. To give customers the battery life they expect, the HP Spectre x2 features a 42-watt hour battery. The touch panel on the HP Spectre x2 is optically bonded to the display, offering increased brightness. The HP Spectre x2 takes advantage of Panel Self Refresh technology that holds images on the screen to allow portions of the PC to power down when nothing on the screen is moving.

For productivity, the HP Spectre x2 comes with a full-sized, 1.5 mm travel keyboard and a 120 x 55 mm touchpad to offer customers an accurate, comfortable and familiar experience. The keyboard easily detaches and attaches with a magnetic connector to transform to a notebook or tablet. Customers can elevate the keyboard for an angled typing surface for added comfort. The touchpad has Precision TouchPad. The bottom of the keyboard is made of woven fabric and the top of the keyboard from aluminum.

The HP Spectre x2 has a 3.5 mm stainless steel U-shaped kickstand with a friction hinge to allow customers to recline the 12" inch Full HD9 (1,920 x 1,280) diagonal display to 150°. The U-shaped kickstand design allows the 2 in 1 to have a larger battery while keeping the device thin and light. The touchscreen display is optimised for stylus use.

The HP Spectre x2 features two USB Type-C connectors, both with the capability to charge, power and connect to a display, transfer data and support HP Sleep and Charge. Because customers still want to use USB Type-A, the HP Spectre x2 comes with a USB-Type-C to USB Type-A adapter in the box.

For a full tablet experience, the Spectre x2 offers three cameras: a HP Truevision FHD 5 megapixel front-facing camera for web chats; a HP Truevision HD 8 megapixel rear-facing camera for picture-taking and video capture; and an Intel RealSense Camera R2004 to capture and enable 3D experiences. With audio tuned by Bang & Olufsen, the Spectre x2 comes with dual speakers on the keyboard and dual speakers on the tablet for an exceptional listening experience.

HP’s thinnest traditional notebook yet, the HP ENVY, is just under 13 mm thin. It comes with 6th Gen Intel Core processors2 in 1.27 kg3 form factor. A metal chassis with a curved profile and elevated lift hinge gives customers a more stable and comfortable typing and viewing experience. Along with its dual fans, the lift hinge promotes better air circulation under the device.

The HP ENVY 13.3" diagonal notebook offers customers a choice of Full HD9 or Quad HD+7 resolution in the display. It comes with dual speakers and audio tuned by Bang & Olufsen. The HP TrueVision Webcam10 features dual array microphones with noise cancellation technology.

Customers expect their PCs to respond instantly. They have the choice of 6th Gen Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 processors2 and the option of up to 256 GB SSD6 for a fast response. At the same time customers want a long battery life. The ENVY notebook delivers up to 10 hours of battery life8 with a three-cell 45 watt hour Li-ion polymer battery. Users have three USB 3.0 ports, one with HP Sleep and Charge, a full-sized HDMI port and a SD card reader.

The HP ENVY Curved All-in-One is the world’s first 34" diagonal all-in-one PC with a curved display. The edge-to-edge glass display can tilt from 0° to 25° for more comfortable viewing experiences. The Technicolor certified display with WQHD+11 resolution has a 2,000 mm curved radius and enough real estate to comfortably allow multiple open windows with the Windows 10 Snap feature.

The HP ENVY All-in-One PC can take up to 16GB of memory13 and hard drive options of up to 2TB. It supports HDMI for connections to a gaming console and HDMI Out for connecting to a second display for multitasking or TV entertainment. Two USB 3.0 ports and a 3-in-1 media card reader are located on the display chin for quick access from the front. On the back, two USB 2.0 and two USB3.0 ports are placed with the HDMI and LAN ports to keep the workspace organised.

For power and performance, the 34" diagonal HP ENVY Curved All-in-One gives customers the option of NVIDIA GeForce 960A graphics and 6th Gen Intel i7 processors for video editing or gaming. The 34 inch diagonal HP ENVY Curved All-in-One has six speakers including two tweeters with audio tuned by Bang & Olufsen to give customer a premium audio experience.

Intel RealSense technology4 enables Windows Hello5 secure face authentication and depth sensing capabilities. The Intel RealSense camera also enables immersive video, 3D capture and customers to interact with their PC via gesture control.

The HP ENVY 7640 e-All-in-One printer comes with NFC touch-to-print capability, a 25-page automatic document feeder, automatic two-sided printing and a fax function. The HP ENVY 7640 e-All-in-One has a larger 8.9cm colour touch-screen panel and an automatic photo tray that supports 4R (10 x 15cm) and 5R (13 x 18cm) printed photograph formats. The new HP ENVY 7640 supports WiFi Direct, a feature that allows users to maintain a simultaneous connection with both the printer and the Internet. Ink cartridges cost S$19 for black ink and S$24 each for coloured inks.

Sang Hoon Park, Printing Category Director, Printing & Personal Systems Group, Singapore, noted that inkjets and colour lasers serve different markets today. "Inkjets have better quality with the right media. If you don't print a lot, inkjets are best. Colour lasers are more for the commercial and enterprise market. A lot of LaserJets are bought for their high duty cycles," he said. While the new printers will support a recommended 300 pages per month, HP's lasers can print 5,000 to 6,000 pages a month.
