Hilton has been named one of the top three companies to work for in Greater China by global research and consulting firm Great Place To Work Institute, for the second consecutive year. Hilton is also the top-ranking hospitality company on the 2016 list. In addition, 51job Inc, an integrated HR solutions provider, has named Hilton one of China's top 100 employers and also honoured Hilton with an Excellent Campus Recruitment Strategy award.

"We work hard to be an employer of choice that fosters a high performance culture and creates meaningful opportunities for our team members," said Brendan Toomey, VP, Human Resource, Asia Pacific, Hilton "By offering great careers, great rewards and a great environment, we have been able to support our expansion in China by continuing to attract, develop and retain top talent. We recognize that our team members are the heart of Hilton, who provide the world-class service for which Hilton is known and who help achieve our goal of being the most hospitable company in the world."

Great Place to Work Institute's annual list of Best Companies to Work For identifies the best workplaces and celebrates the companies with the best talent management programmes and workplace cultures. As part of its rigorous methodology, Great Place to Work evaluates the programmes and practices of participating companies, while gathering employee feedback through an in-depth survey, focusing on the credibility of the management, the respect that employees feel they are given, the extent to which employees expect to be treated fairly, the level of pride employees have in what they do, as well as the camaraderie they experience at work. This year, 137 companies in Greater China were evaluated. Only 30 made it to the shortlist.

51job Inc's Employer Excellence awards recognise the top 100 companies in China whose HR practices have contributed significantly to their development. After an initial screening of hundreds of thousands of companies, 206 were selected for further evaluation. 51job Inc's criteria included the companies' growth plans, financial results, HR strategy, and the proportion of Millennials in their workforce, as well as wages and promotions, achievements in talent attraction and development, corporate social responsibility practices and reputation.

Hilton was lauded for its best practices in recruitment, training, retention, and corporate social responsibility, which have helped to reinforce the company's position in the market. In 2014 and 2015, Hilton was included in 51job Inc's list of 100 Best Human Resource Management Companies. Hilton also won the Best e-Learning Development award in 2014 and the Best Human Resource Management Team award in 2015.

Dell EMC is one of Singapore's Best Companies to Work For in 2016

Dell EMC Singapore is ranked No. 8 on the Singapore 2016 Best Companies to Work For, a list derived from one of the world’s most comprehensive studies of workplace culture conducted by the Great Place to Work Institute Singapore.

The study measures the behaviours and the environment that forms the underpinning of world’s most desirable workplaces and successful businesses through 58 specific metrics embedded in an employee survey, as well as in an audit of company culture and people practices. Companies cannot be included in the list unless a clear majority of their employees considers their organisation to be a great workplace.

Earlier this year, Dell EMC was ranked No. 4 multinational best workplace in Asia Pacific and Japan, KSA and the UAE as part of the Best Workplaces in Asia 2016 list by Great Place To Work, making the organisation part of an elite list of 60 companies from 900 that were evaluated in nine countries across Asia.

“Dell EMC is a company with a diverse team of people working towards a common vision – a confluence of talent, values and inspiration. This is an organisation where the voices of the team define the work experience,” said Great Place to Work Institute Singapore. “The 'You Define' campaign is a ground-driven initiative that seeks to create a sense of connection and purpose for team members, celebrating each individual’s contribution to the business. It also creates opportunities for team members to participate in projects important to them, such as CSR and sustainability efforts.

“Authenticity, vibrancy, openness and the employee – these are the values that bind the Dell EMC team together. Dell EMC has the winning formula to be a Best Company to Work For!”

Eric Goh, MD, Dell EMC Singapore – Enterprise Business said, “At Dell EMC we believe that building a positive, inclusive and productive workplace is a continuous journey, in which our employees play a critical role. I’d like to thank all of our employees for their trust and continued contribution to the business.”

Globally, EMC was ranked No. 4 in the World’s Best Multinational Workplaces category, moving up two places from its position of No. 6 in 2015. The World's Best Multinational Workplaces are chosen from a pool of 1,000 multinational subsidiaries that have appeared on at least five national Best Workplaces lists.

Salesforce Singapore was named Singapore’s Best Place To Work, clinching No. 1 spot in Great Place to Work’s Best Companies to Work for 2016 list.

The Best Workplaces in Asia list recognises organisations in Asia that are dedicated to sustaining a high-trust work culture and celebrates companies that are committed to providing strong, caring and innovative cultures that are distinguished by their extraordinary levels of trust, pride and camaraderie.

Accepting the award on behalf of Salesforce Singapore at the Best Companies to Work for ceremony on 7 November, Cecily Ng, Area VP, Enterprise Business Unit, Asia, Salesforce said: “We are proud and humbled that Salesforce has been voted the No. 1 Best Company to Work For in Singapore for the second year in a row. This award is a true testament to the talented and diverse people we have working in our Singapore team.”

The Salesforce culture is rooted in the spirit of 'ohana' , which means ‘family’ in Hawaiian. Ohana represents the idea that families – related or chosen – are bound together, with its members feeling a sense of responsibility for one another. The #SalesforceOhana is the close-knit ecosystem of Salesforce employees, customers, partners and communities. Salesforce employees are personally committed to live the company values - trust, customer success, innovation, giving back, equality, wellness, transparency and fun – and to uphold the culture.

Salesforce was named No. 1 Best Company To Work For at the inaugural award in 2015, as well as No. 1 Best Place To Work in Asia Pacific and Middle East (SME Category) in 2015. It was also voted No. 1 Best Place to Work in Australia for 2016.

Hilton Worldwide has been named the top company in the 2015's Best Companies to Work For in Greater China list by Great Place to Work Institute, the global research firm that identifies and classifies the world's best workplaces. Hilton received this recognition based on the results of the 2015 Great Place to Work survey which polled 200,000 employees.

In total, 112 companies from Hong Kong, Mainland China and Taiwan completed the evaluation process, which examined the companies' workplace environment by asking employees about their workplace experience as well as how they feel about their company's policies and management process. While employees answered the 58-statement Trust Index survey, the HR and senior management teams of participating companies were also asked to submit a Culture Audit questionnaire, outlining their HR policies and practices.

"We strive to be an employer of choice and this is deeply rooted in our human resource strategy which places our team members at the heart of everything we do at Hilton. Loyal and happy employees are the foundation of our company and are critical to our success. We are continuously exploring new opportunities to engage, develop and reward our team members so that they remain fulfilled and appreciated as part of the Hilton family," said Martin Rinck, President, Asia Pacific, Hilton Worldwide.

Emirates' amazing video of football mega stars makes marketing gold

Emirates, the airline, has created a global campaign leveraging football on the back of the World Cup in Brazil this June. "Watch the moment when two football legends meet in the Emirates A380 Onboard Lounge," invites an eDM sent to its customers.

The campaign features a video of football stars Pelé and Cristiano Ronaldo, Emirates' new Global Ambassadors within an Emirates A380 plane, and asks email recipients to share and comment on social media with the #AllTimeGreats hashtag.

Businesses thinking of working with celebrities could borrow from the Emirates campaign. The campaign recipe is one which is likely to go viral. Emirates has managed to have two mega sports celebrities on its turf, playing out a story that weaves past and present realities, potential and luxury, opportunities found and lost, all at the same time. It'll be interesting to see what the #AllTimeGreats discussion is like.
