Singapore Gifts Show on till 11 July

The Singapore Gifts Show 2014 (SGS) returns for the 9th consecutive year with a focus on showcasing Designed-In-Singapore creations and local enterprises.

Supported by the DesignSingapore Council, SGS will feature a number of Singapore-made gifts, with the highlight being a new gift and souvenir label, Now & Then. The label is spearheaded by Celcem, featuring designer and self-made Singapore entrepreneur Edwin Low who owns local retail boutique Supermama.

Low was the President’s Design Award winner in 2013 and Supermama was the studio behind the President’s Design Award’s ‘Singapore Icons’ souvenir series. The showcase will include a number of items – such as umbrellas, watches, towels, mugs and notebooks – that contain designs that highlight 100 years of Singapore’s rich architectural history.

Also debuting is a USB traveller multi-plug adapter produced by local entreprenuer Chia Eng Kiat, who owns local corporate gift store Tredan. Chia has already patented the design of his plug in Singapore and China, and has received orders from corporate customers.

“We are excited to see strong support from the Singapore business and design community and young innovators who are using SGS 2014 as a platform to showcase their work. This is an excellent opportunity for them to market the Designed-in-Singapore brands regionally,” said Ooi Peng Ee, General Manager of TTG Events, the exhibition and events arm of TTG Asia Media. "We want SGS 2014 to be the marketplace that designers, entrepreneurs and innovators can turn to for their entrepreneurial ventures”.

A total of 219 booths, comprising of more than 30% new companies, will be participating in the 5,000 square metre exhibition space this year.
TTG Events is targeting 9,000 visitors at this year’s event.

Complimentary talks on topics like ‘Utilising Social Media For Your Events’ by ClickAcademy, ‘Facebook LifeHacks’ by Conversion Hub Marketing and ‘Storytelling Secrets For Successful Organisations’ by XtraMile Solutions will be held during the event. SGS 2014 will take place from 9 to 11 July 2014 at Suntec Singapore Hall 401 – 403.
