Air Asia announces three new routes

AirAsia has strengthened its network into Indonesia and the Philippines with three new routes from Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia to Pontianak, Indonesia; from Johor Bahru to Medan, Indonesia and from Kota Kinabalu to Cebu, Philippines, all on 27 March.

The two Indonesian routes operate twice weekly while the Kota Kinabalu to Cebu direct flight operated by AirAsia Zest will be operating 4x weekly.

Spencer Lee, Head of Commercial for AirAsia said, “As a Truly Asean airline, we are fully committed towards enhancing our connectivity within this booming region as we expand our reach into Indonesia and Philippines. With these new additions, our guests are now able to have more travel options with greater convenience.

“Being the first and only airline to provide direct flights to Pontianak from Kuala Lumpur, we are optimistic in tapping into this under-served charming city at West Kalimantan. Besides, we are just as excited to provide greater connectivity for our guests from Johor Bahru to Medan, Indonesia that has a lot to offer for business and leisure alike. Same for the recommencement of Kota Kinabalu – Cebu route, which will offer more travelling options for the closely-knit communities between Sabah and
the Philippines.”
