Singtel to take Samsung Galaxy Note7 pre-orders from 17 August

Singtel has announced that customers who have registered their interest with Singtel will be able to pre-order Samsung’s new Galaxy Note7 smartphone from 17 August. Pre-order delivery or collection begins on 19 August, a day before the island-wide launch.

The Galaxy Note7, a large-screen device, and its S Pen are both equipped with IP68*-certified water and dust resistant capabilities. Galaxy Note7 is equipped with new iris recognition** technology, a highly secure biometric authentication system. Coupled with Samsung Knox, a defence-grade*** security platform, the Galaxy Note7 provides a new level of security and convenience. The first smartphone that is high dynamic range**** (HDR) video streaming-ready, the Galaxy Note7 offers a cinema-like experience with brighter colours and a deeper black.

Customers can pre-order 64GB models of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 in Gold Platinum, Black Onyx and Silver Titanium. Prices start at S$398 on Singtel’s Combo 3 mobile plan.

Customers who successfully purchase the phones during the pre-order phase will also receive a complimentary lens kit worth S$198 on a first-come-first-served basis. They will also get three months' free subscription when they sign up for 12 months of Singtel Music or Singtel Newsstand.

Pre-order customers can choose the delivery option or collect their Galaxy Note7 from 19 August, one day before its island-wide launch, at all Singtel Retail Shops and selected Singtel Exclusive Retailers.

**The iris scanner may be unable to read an iris if the user is wearing certain types of glasses or coloured contact lenses.
 

***Samsung Knox received the most “Strong” ratings of any mobile security platform in the report Mobile Device Security: A Comparison of Platforms, from Gartner. The report, published on April 6, 2016, compared the core OS security features built into twelve mobile device platforms as well as enterprise management capabilities.
