"Since our last survey was conducted, we have improved our strategy for gathering data based on statistically sound samples," noted Carlos Uebel, MD, ISAPS president. "This has been an effort on the part of our society to further enhance our survey methodology and make it more comprehensive," he continued.
The leading cosmetic surgical procedures performed in 2013 were:

*Blepharoplasty refers to surgery done on eyelids while rhinoplasties are surgeries on the nose. Otoplasties are performed on the ears. Lipostructuring refers to adding or removing fat to produce a particular shape.
*Survey participants completed a two-page questionnaire that focused on the number of surgical and non-surgical procedures they performed in 2013. Data from a total of 1,567 plastic surgeons were compiled for this survey.
