CyberLink, the consumer multimedia software company, has updated its flagship media playback software PowerDVD with features that enable users to watch 360 degree video.

When playing a 360 video using PowerDVD, users can pan and rotate the perspective to watch content from different angles, immersing themselves into the environment. “Three hundred and sixty-degree video is an ideal medium to introduce people to the immersive world of virtual reality,” said Dr Jau Huang, Chairman and CEO of CyberLink. “However, consumption is just one side of the equation, and CyberLink will be making some very exciting announcements in the coming weeks regarding immersive content creation.”
