Chat-based collaboration for Office 365 in preview stage

Microsoft announced the preview availability of Microsoft Teams, a new chat-based workspace that further enhances the collaboration capabilities in Microsoft Office 365, the cloud-based productivity offering with more than 85 million monthly active commercial users.

Microsoft Teams brings together people, conversations, content and the tools teams need to collaborate. The solution joins Office 365 in delivering a portfolio of collaboration applications and services to help solve diverse needs of people and organisations globally. The solution features:

· Instant chat for teams
· A hub for teamwork, with quick access to information they need right in Office 365
· Enterprise-level security and compliance features
· Customisable for each team

Microsoft Teams is available in preview in 181 countries and in 18 languages to commercial customers with Office 365 Enterprise or Business plans, with general availability expected in the first quarter of 2017. Office 365 IT administrators can enable Microsoft Teams from the Office 365 admin centre.

Localised language support for 18 languages include English (US), and in Asia Pacific, Chinese (Simple and Traditional), Japanese, Korean, and Turkish.
