The Philippines Department of Tourism (PDOT), in cooperation with Clark Development Corporation, has announced the CLARK BIKE TOUR this July. The bike tour is aimed at creating widespread awareness on the value and importance of health and wellness as a lifestyle and at the same time promoting travel and tourism. It also aims to promote Clark as a bicycle-friendly community.

The event on July 30 at the parade ground seeks to gather some 400 road bikers (divided into 100 teams at four members each) to participate in a day-long non-competitive tour of the various attractions around the freeport zone.

Teams should have a bicycle and helmet for each team member, and wear a uniform of their choice. They will then visit 15 pit stops for 15 minutes of hydration, ‘groufie’ pictures and snacks courtesy of sponsors. Capping the day-long event will be a party for the teams plus the distribution of certificates of participation, raffle draws, and prizes for various categories.

The Clark freeport occupies over 33,000 hectares of prime land in Pampanga province, the Philippines. Recommended hydration pit stops include the Clark Museum, Nayong Pilipino, Clark Dinosaur Island, Air Force City Aircraft Park, Berthaphil III (Giada’s Breads, Pastries and Deli), Clark International Speedway, DECAwake Clark Cable Park, El Kabayo Riding Stables, Paradise Ranch/Zoocobia Fun Zoo, Fontana Water Park, Widus Hotel, Royce Hotel, The Villages at Global Clark, Park Inn by Radisson Clark, Matam Ih Restaurant, and Koko Buri Restaurant.

A BIKE EXPO on July 30 and 31, 2016 complements the tour with a showcase of products and services. There will also be outdoor events on July 30 such as an on-bike tutorial for kids, lessons on bike safety and maintenance including how to fix a flat tyre, and an exhibition of bicycles.

Interested?

The CLARK BIKE TOUR will be held on July 30, 2016, 5am onwards at the Clark Parade Ground. There is no registration fee.

The bike expo is at SM City Clark from 10am.

Australians tell Kleenex all about clean

Kimberly-Clark’s toilet tissue brand Kleenex uncovers what Australians think about cleanliness* in conjunction with the recent launch of the Kleenex Luxury Collection toilet tissue.
  • Almost a third of Australians (32%) say they feel they could be cleaner.
  • More than eight in 10 (84%) will refrain from going on a first date if they don’t feel clean.
  • Being clean has significant emotional benefits: the feeling of ‘clean’ helps Australians feel fresh (84%), and more confident (48%).
  • Half of the participants surveyed think 'cleaning your intimate area' is the most difficult topic to discuss in conversation, compared to topics such as sex, religion, politics, and money.

“These research findings confirm that now more than ever, Australians want to feel clean and confident, and therefore need the best a toilet tissue can offer,” explains Kimberley Finsten, Marketing Manager - Household & Intimate Care at Kimberly-Clark Australia. “The launch of our new Kleenex Luxury Collection will drive category value for the consumer and reframe the segment to think about key benefits such as clean. This is what toilet tissue should be doing and communicating, beyond the current product attributes such as soft, strong, and long.”
The new Kleenex “Luxury Collection” is available in two ranges, Aloe Vera and Clean Sensation. The Aloe Vera Luxury product is enriched with the unique benefit of Aloe Vera, providing a soft and gentle touch with every use. The Clean Sensation product is a luxuriously soft, thick and absorbent toilet paper, designed with ripple technology to provide the ultimate in softness, thickness and absorbency.
