Song Seung Heon visits Singapore to promote Saimdang

Source: Singtel. Korean celebrity Song Seung Heon met with fans and Singtel TV subscribers during a visit to Singapore hosted by Singtel and Oh!K.

Two hundred Singtel TV subscribers in Singapore got up-close with Korean superstar Song Seung Heon at a meet-and-greet hosted by Singtel and Oh!K.

Song was in Singapore to promote K-drama Saimdang (师任堂). Singtel TV subscribers had the opportunity to take photos and interact with Song ahead of a public meet-and-greet event at The Cathay. A crowd of 1,500 fans turned out to support Song at the public fan meeting at 7pm, some of whom arrived as early as noon.

Saimdang will premiere on Turner’s Oh!K (Singtel TV channel 525/611) on 26 January 2017 at 9pm. Viewers can also catch it on the Hallyu pack on Cast.

Singapore fans of Song Seung Heon may get a chance to meet him

Hallyu fans will have a treat from Singtel in the new year as Singtel brings South Korean superstar and heartthrob Song Seung Heon to Singapore on 7 January 2017. Song will be in town to promote the upcoming drama, Saimdang (师任堂), which will premiere on Turner’s Oh!K channel (Singtel TV channel 525/611) on 25 January 2017 at 9pm.

Singtel TV subscribers will get the chance to win 20 pairs of tickets to the meet-and-greet session and receive an autograph from Song. Singtel TV subscribers have to answer two questions at www.singteltv.com.sg/songseungheon. The contest will end 1 January 2017.

In addition, 15 lucky Singtel Facebook fans will win a photo opportunity with Song, with details on how to win to be shared on the Singtel Facebook page.

Best known for his roles in Korean dramas such as East of Eden, Autumn in My Heart and Summer Scent, Song co-stars with actress Lee Young Ae of Jewel in the Palace fame in Saimdang.

The K-drama depicts the life of Shin Saimdang, Korea’s most famous historical female figure, known for her art, poetry and calligraphy, and her love story with Lee Gyeom, played by Song. Lee stars in dual roles as a present-day Korean art history lecturer Seo Ji Yun and as Shin Saimdang. The drama also marks Lee’s comeback to the small screen, after nearly 13 years.

Saimdang will be broadcast simultaneously with Korea, and is to air every Wednesday and Thursday. The drama will be dubbed in both Mandarin and Bahasa Malay.

'Dot World' domain name in Chinese, Japanese and Korean now in sunrise period

The DotWorld_IDN Registry, operated by Stable Tone has launched the sunrise period for the DotWorld_IDN top level domain (TLD) in Chinese, Japanese and Korean. This sunrise application period will end on November 10, 2015.

During the sunrise period, prior rights holders with a registered mark in the Trademark Clearing House, as well as rights holders with a nationally registered trademark around the world can register DotWorld_IDN domain names ahead of the public launch. The public launch will open on November 17, 2015, allowing DotWorld_IDN domains to be available for registration by anyone on a first-come, first-served basis.

The two-character domain extension, 世界, pronounced "shijie" in Chinese; "seikai" in Japanese and "segye" in Korean, means the "world" across all three languages, and can target a population of over 1.5 billion.

"We are taking care to ensure that trademark rights holders have a chance to register their brand names with priority in the DotWorld_IDN TLD," said Jason Du, CEO of Stable Tone. "DotWorld_IDN domains are a must-have for brands looking to grow and prosper in China, Japan and Korea."
