Dell Singapore has added to the XPS and Inspiron series with the XPS 12 2-in-1 and Inspiron 11 3000 series respectively. Taking home entertainment experience to the next level with over 8 million pixels of sharp Ultra HD clarity on an expansive 28” screen, Dell has also introduced the Dell 28 Ultra HD 4K Monitor.

Transitioning from laptop to tablet via a magnetic connection

The XPS 12 2-in-1 is designed to switch between laptop and tablet with a magnetic connection that enables one-handed transition. It is the only 2-in-1 device with a 4K Ultra HD display option, with 6 million more pixels than a Full HD display. The 2-in-1 comes with a choice of XPS 12 Premier Keyboard or XPS 12 Slim Keyboard with magnetic folio covers designed specifically for the XPS 12. The keyboard options feature backlit keyboards and precision touchpads. The folios magnetically connect to the XPS 12, provide a stand for the tablet with variable angle positions and include a holder for the optional Dell Active Pen.

Dell’s first consumer Ultra HD 4K monitor

The Dell 28 Ultra HD 4K Monitor (S2817Q) combines Ultra HD 4K clarity with dual 9W integrated speakers and a 2 ms panel response time. The Picture-in-Picture (PIP) and Picture-by-Picture (PBP) features also allow users to view content from two different sources simultaneously on one large monitor screen.

Proactive services and support

Dell ProSupport is dedicated to providing maximum support with minimal customer effort. ProSupport combines 24x7 access to expert technicians, onsite service after remote diagnosis* and support for both hardware and software issues**. Ultra high net worth population in UAE concentrated in Abu Dhabi, Dubai

There are 1,275 ultra wealthy individuals in the UAE, representing 20% of the total ultra wealthy population in the Middle East, Wealth-X said. The combined wealth of the UAE's ultra high net worth (UHNW*) population stands at US$255 billion.

The study also reveals that 57% of the UAE's UHNW population amassed their fortune through entrepreneurship. Only 8% fully inherited their fortune; and 35% partially inherited and grew their wealth.

Key findings include:

• Nearly 1,000 UHNW individuals are based in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi (450 individuals), and in Dubai (495) 
• Saudi Arabia and the UAE jointly account for over 45% of the UHNW population in the Middle East 
• Only 3% of the UAE's UHNW population made its wealth through oil, gas and consumable fuels 
• The most significant source of wealth for the UAE's UNHW population is industrial conglomerates, at more than 20%
• The UAE is ranked 22nd in Wealth-X's global ranking of UHNW population by country, behind Saudi Arabia (17) but ahead of Kuwait (32) 

There are nearly 6,000 UHNW individuals in the Middle East with a combined net worth of US$995 billion. Saudi Arabia has the largest UHNW population (1,495 ultra wealthy individuals) and UHNW wealth (US$320 billion) in the region, followed by the UAE.

David Awit, Wealth-X Director for the Middle East, commented: "Despite the UAE equity market suffering declines of nearly 20% in the last year, our study shows that UHNW individuals in the country have defied this economic backdrop to record further increases in their fortunes in 2015, highlighting the ability of the world's wealthiest individuals to continue to create new wealth."

* Wealth-X defines UHNW individuals as those with US$30 million and above in net assets.

ASUS EeeBook X205 available in India

ASUS has launched the EeeBook X205 in India. The 11.6" ultra portable is designed to provide a smartphone-like experience and is ideal for young professionals, the company said. 

Connected standby technology provides users with an almost instant resume from sleep mode, and the ability to be socially connected at any time - even with the notebook in standby mode. Powered by a quad core Intel Atom processor, EeeBook X205 ships with Windows 8.1 with Bing, and is available in four colours: dark blue, white, gold, and red.

Toshiba's Ultra-HD 4K L9450 Pro Theatre TVs are at home in living rooms or boardrooms

Toshiba's latest Ultra-HD 4K L9450 series with Android Pro Theatre TVs combines image quality with an abundance of Android apps that are downloadable on Google Play. 

The TVs can be used as computer displays, and are bought by businesses for conference rooms, the company said. With available Android apps, documents created by common productivity software can be downloaded to available memory on the TV and viewed onscreen, eliminating the need for a presentation device. Wireless mice, keyboards and gamepads can be used in addition to the standard remote control as input devices*.

Four times sharper than Full HD, Ultra-HD 4K offers enhanced clarity for a growing selection of 4K content. The L9450 series is equipped with a proprietary CEVO 4K Engine that drives the 4K resolution, texture restoration and brilliance restoration, allowing regular content like TV shows and DVDs to achieve near-4K image quality.
