HP's LaserJet Enterprise 600 Series is more secure and versatile

HP Inc. has launched the HP LaserJet Enterprise 600 Series devices, which deliver security and enhanced productivity.

The 600 Series multifunction printers (MFPs) combine performance and energy efficiency with professional quality documents, while helping to protect the network from cyberattacks. The new devices also include HP JetIntelligence cartridge technology built around a breakthrough in toner chemistry for added print quality protection.

“HP is reinventing the printing experience for customers and service professionals with transformative technologies that leverage HP’s innovation in security, industrial design and real-world performance,” said Ng Tian-Chong, GM, Printing Systems, Asia Pacific and Japan, HP Inc. “From personal mono LaserJet printers up through HP’s largest and most full featured Enterprise Flow MFPs, our new 600 Series products complete the JetIntelligence portfolio with supplies that bring outstanding performance to businesses.”

The 600 Series is embedded with advanced security features designed to help reduce risk, thwart cyberattacks and improve compliance. These devices contain the ability to self-heal, automatically triggering a reboot in the event of an attack or anomaly. Additional features include built-in encryption to protect data stored on the hard drive, secure erase to remove sensitive information safely andcompletely , and the ability to disable ports and protocols to help prevent unauthorised access.

Customers can use a tablet-like user interface (UI) that is now available on the recently launched HP A3 LaserJets and on the new 600 Series LaserJet devices. The new UI features include a message centre, improved preview, additional customisation, centralised contacts and new apps designed to help streamline business processes. The UI firmware is upgradeable for investment protection and productivity.

HP’s 600 Series MFPs include up to 17 models with 26 available bundles ranging delivering print speeds of 50 pages per minute (ppm) to 75 ppm for a letter sized printed page.

**The 600 Series MFPs include all new JetIntelligence capabilities built in starting at the toner particle level, specially engineered to help customers save money and time while improving carbon footprints and energy efficiencies . For example, these devices can wake up out of sleep mode to full performance in as fast as nine seconds. 

Epson introduces three business inkjets with versatile connectivity and capacity features

Epson, a digital imaging and printing solutions provider, has introduced three new business inkjet models in Singapore to serve the SOHO and office environment.

Designed to save desktop space and lower printing costs, the ultra-compact Epson WorkForce series features automatic document feeders (ADFs) and Epson Connect, which allows users to print using their mobile devices.

The new WorkForce series of printers offer easy and flexible shared printing through Wi-Fi, while the added advantage of Wi-Fi Direct means that the printer can connect to up to four devices without the need for a router. Users are also able to access Epson Connect, which offers:

· iPrint (printing and scanning to and from mobile devices)

· Email print (sending documents to an email from which the printer will print)

· Remote print (printing by sending documents through the Internet)

Other cloud printing services these new all-in-one printers are capable of include
Apple AirPrint and Google Cloud Print.

Equipped with a built-in LCD screen, all three models are able to operate as standalone machines, allowing users to easily scan, copy, fax, change printer settings or setup and operate the printer without a PC.

The WorkForce WF-2651 and WF-2661 feature Epson’s PrecisionCore Technology that is equipped with versatile, high-speed solutions for office printing. Quality printouts are produced at 33 pages-per-minute (ppm)*. Similarly, the WF-2631 prints at 5,760dpi resolution and 34 ppm.

While the WF-2631 boasts a small footprint, allowing it to fit perfectly well within the limited office space of SOHO businesses, the WF-2661 offer even greater convenience with near field communication (NFC) capabilities, the first printer from Epson to offer this functionality. With this feature, users can conveniently print or scan by touching a compatible device to the printer.

All three units feature an ADF with a 30 sheet capacity holding capacity. Coupled with the Broadcast Fax and PC-fax functions, which allows you to send a fax digitally from your computer, sending and receiving faxes becomes a breeze. The printers also use Epson’s DURABrite Ultra pigment inks that produce high quality prints that are smudge, fade and water resistant.

Konica Minolta picks up coveted BLI 'Line of the Year' award for 4th consecutive year

Buyers Laboratory (BLI), an independent authority and provider of competitive intelligence, testing and reviews for the imaging industry, has named Konica Minolta's A3 multi-function peripheral (MFP) family "Line of the Year" for a record fourth straight year.


"Line of the Year" is awarded once a year to vendors whose products are determined to be the best in their respective categories of models tested in BLI's two-month laboratory evaluation.

"What it boils down to with Konica Minolta is consistency," said George Mikolay, BLI's Senior Product Editor for A3/Copier MFPs. "Whereas competing lines may stand out in certain speed bands, or in either colour or black, Konica Minolta's engines stand out across the board - in reliability, ease of use and image quality - in virtually all speed bands in both colour and black. No other vendor brings the same quality of performance across its product line to the same degree."

He added, "The colour engines were found to quickly process and output users' jobs not only in BLI's real-world jobstream test, but also when printing sets and producing booklets, and scan speeds are the fastest or among the fastest in their respective groups. All of Konica Minolta's tested colour devices received high marks for both business graphics and photographic images, producing bright, saturated colour, natural flesh tones and smooth overall output." 

Konica Minolta's monochrome engines tested this year also earned high marks for printed image quality. "Even in copy mode, text was sharp, fine lines were consistent and halftone levels were distinct across all levels," noted Mikolay.

Konica Minolta also elaborated on the BLI "Pick" award for Outstanding 51- to 60-ppm A3 Monochrome multi-function peripheral won by its bizhub 554e. BLI's "Pick" awards, presented twice annually, recognise the best performers in a comprehensive suite of tests that cover a wide range of the most important features and performance factors for buyers.

According to the BLI report, the Konica Minolta bizhub 554e won for superior reliability and unsurpassed image quality. 

"The bizhub 554e offers many great features, but above all, it's proven to be very reliable," said Pete Emory, BLI Manager of Laboratory Testing. The unit completed BLI's two-month, 200,000-impression test with only two misfeeds and no service required.

 

Konica Minolta's A3 business colour models include the "Pick"-winning bizhub C364e and bizhub C454e; the "Highly Recommended" bizhub C224e, bizhub C284e and bizhub C554e; and the bizhub C654e and bizhub C754e. Besides the "Pick"-winning bizhub 554e, Konica Minolta's A3 monochrome models include the "Highly Recommended" bizhub 284e and bizhub 364e, as well as the bizhub 654e and bizhub 754e, which are enhanced versions of models that earned "Highly Recommended" ratings.
