Aon, a leading global professional services firm providing a broad range of risk, retirement, and health solutions, has named six organisations as Best Employers Singapore 2017.
Engagement scores for Aon Best Employers increased by two points to 82% this year. With the market average falling by three points to 60%, Best Employers are further ahead than the market compared to last year.
Higher engagement levels are a direct result of an enhanced work experience for employees, Aon said. Eight in 10 Aon Best Employers enable a high performance culture (20 points higher than market average; 81% provide their employees with better infrastructure (23 points higher than market average); and 85% offer more opportunities for collaboration (21 points higher than market average).
While Best Employer CEOs named Operational/Organisational Efficiency and Effectiveness as well as Market Factors as the top two challenges impacting the organisation's ability to succeed, CEOs of other participating organisations chose Market Factors and People Issues. This demonstrates the importance of having the right talent strategy in place, which will in turn, bring about a more productive workforce that delivers business results.

Vikas Verma, Principal, Talent and Performance, Aon Hewitt, said: "The digital era is opening up a great opportunity to seamlessly listen to employees across the talent life cycle in order to provide the promised people experience. However, this transition to continuous listening is not about another technology implementation. It's a paradigm shift in listening and responding to employee experiences in near-real-time. For this to positively influence employee engagement, organisations must drive more empowerment and development of their people managers - as we see in this year's Aon Best Employers Singapore."
Jeremy Andrulis, CEO Southeast Asia, Aon Hewitt, added: "HR makes many decisions every day, both tactical and strategic, and they add up to create an overall employee experience and impact the value delivered to business. The Aon Best Employers programme gives organisations a clear view of where they stand in the market when it comes to employee engagement, leadership, employer brand, and culture to drive performance - and with access to this data and insights, HR can make better people decisions that achieve organisational goals while meeting employee expectations."
