Highlights include the hairy crab meat & roe Shanghainese soup dumpling (蟹粉小笼包, S$28++ for three pieces), its delicate wrapper giving way to a molten centre layered with briny sweetness.

The wok-fried giant garoupa, black garlic, kale (黑蒜油泡龙趸球, S$68++) is a complex option for the tastebuds, with the black garlic and kale contributing a deep, earthy complexity. Expect citrus brightness against savoury depth from the fragrant casserole-baked duck meatball with aged mandarine peel and duck egg (陈皮瓦罉焗鸭肉球, S$48++), while the cumin French lamb belly (孜然法国羊腩, S$58++) offers a gentle spice that lingers on the tongue.

Two chicken dishes are on the menu: the sesame chicken stuffed with shrimp mousse (芝麻百花鸡, S$58++) option is tender with a subtle nuttiness, while the braised free-range chicken, chestnuts (板栗炆走地鸡, S$42++) evokes rustic comfort, its mellow sweetness harmonising with the bird’s natural flavour.

Last but not least, Mott 32 offers steamed claypot rice, hairy crab roe, spring onion (蟹粉煲仔饭, S$86++) to deliver a luxurious finish, each grain infused with umami richness.

Hong Kong puts up winter wonderland experience

Source: HKTB website.

December in Hong Kong is the perfect winter getaway with the temperatures cooling below 15°C. The 2015 Hong Kong WinterFest, on now, includes a number of installations and experiences.

A jewellery-inspired Serpenti light art installation in Statue Square, Central organised by the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) and BVLGARI is five minutes' walk from the Observation Wheel, where 15-minute rides on luxury gondolas are available to provide a view of the iconic Victoria Harbour and Hong Kong skyline.

A Star Ferry ride, rated as one of Tripadvisor’s Top 10 Must-See Destinations in Hong Kong, offers a different perspective of Victoria Harbour, Victoria Peak and the Hong Kong skyscrapers. Timed right, passengers on the ferry can view the 8pm, Symphony of Lights show - where 44 buildings around the harbour perform a musically synchronised 13-minute display - from the middle of the harbour.
This year, Harbour City partners Hong Kong Disneyland in conjunction with Disney’s 10th anniversary celebration to transform the Ocean Terminal Forecourt into a Happily Ever After Christmas Avenue complete with a tree and holiday window displays.

Just five minutes' walk away is 1881 Heritage, the former headquarters of the Hong Kong Marine Police, where the Grand Piazza has been transformed into a 13 m high gothic cathedral-like ice palace, complete with ice-skating rink.

Round up the year at the New Year Countdown Celebrations on 31 December 2015, with a pyromusical and fireworks at the stroke of midnight. Vantage points include the waterfront along Tsim Sha Tsui; the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Open Piazza and Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade; West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade; New Central Harbourfront; the promenade at the Golden Bauhinia Square in Wan Chai and the areas around Central Piers No. 9 and 10.

“Queen of Prints” Mary Katrantzou stars in adidas Originals fall/winter collection

Source: adidas. Shoes from the Mary Katrantzou collection.

Fashion designer Mary Katrantzou, well known as the “Queen of Prints”, has collaborated with sportswear specialist adidas to create the adidas
Originals by Mary Katrantzou collection. The collaboration sees the launch of a series of apparel and footwear inspired by Katrantzou's designs.

Katrantzou’s work often blends bold graphics with architectural shapes and the latest technologies to convey a modern feminine aesthetic. In this collaboration, Katrantzou draws inspiration from past adidas shoe silhouettes and has incorporated product features like outsoles, laces, and pop icons into her own unique collection.

"When adidas first approached me, I took time to think about what I could offer that’s different, what I could say through the collection that they haven’t said before. I grew up, like so many other kids around the world, wearing adidas sneakers, and bringing my vision to such a global brand is a great challenge. They have a fantastic heritage and their ability to innovate in sportswear makes them the perfect partner for us to work with in this market. I believe that print and colour can come together to communicate perfectly to a wider audience,”
she said.

The collection is available in Singapore stores at the adidas Originals store at Pacific Plaza and online at shop.adidas.com.sg. Footwear from the collection will be available at the Limited Edition store at Marina Bay Sands.
