Singtel Group has launched its 2026 National Day film, Beyond Connection. The film is a tribute to the spirit of progress that has shaped Singapore over 61 years, charting the country's journey from a resource-poor island in 1965 to today’s global economic success story before looking ahead to how digital infrastructure and AI will support Singapore's next lap as a Smart Nation and regional AI hub.

Beyond Connection also tells the story of Singtel's own evolution and the role it has played in nation building.

Yuen Kuan Moon, Group CEO, Singtel, said: “The story of Singapore has always been one of looking beyond the horizon and building for the future. Every generation has played a part in building a stronger foundation for the next and this includes investing in the infrastructure and capabilities that have helped us dream bigger.

"As AI reshapes economies and societies, we are entering another defining chapter. As national telco to today's digital infrastructure and services group, we feel privileged that we can continue playing a part in driving Singapore's Smart Nation ambitions and continued success by building the digital backbone that will help Singapore seize new opportunities in the AI era."

The film blends archival footage with present-day scenes to bring Singapore’s development and progress to life, capturing how Singtel’s technology and services played a role in transforming Singapore’s airport and port, healthcare and manufacturing sectors.

Shots of Singtel's National Day Parade marching contingents, past and present, highlight the company’s longstanding role in supporting this journey. True to the spirit of AI, selected historical images were enhanced through AI-assisted production tools to improve their visual quality and introduce subtle movement while respecting their authenticity and original context.

Accelerating industry transformation

Beyond Connection illustrates how Singtel’s investments in digital infrastructure are unleashing fresh innovation in Singapore’s world-class healthcare sector while breathing new life into old industries.

Contributing to community

The film also highlights Singtel's longstanding commitment to empowering every generation. Through the Singtel Touching Lives Fund, Singtel has supported children and youth with special needs for more than three decades. It has also lent support for the visual and performing arts through the Singtel Waterfront Theatre at the Esplanade and the Singtel Special Exhibition Gallery at National Gallery Singapore. It continues championing Singapore’s national athletes through a 15-year partnership with the Singapore National Olympic Council.

Lian Pek, VP, Group Corporate Affairs & Investor Relations, Singtel said: “Dare I say this is not our typical National Day celebration. With the world on the cusp of an AI-driven revolution, it is even more critical that a company with our DNA helps Singapore make its way in the brave new world while leaving no one behind. We know Singaporeans’ determination and resilience will always prevail and we celebrate that in the film while also reaffirming our support for the nation through innovation, partnerships and community.”

Singtel offers more support to accelerate AI adoption among Singapore SMEs

- New programme to help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) move from AI experimentation to real-world implementation

Singtel Singapore has launched AI.dea — an AI business transformation programme, developed in partnership with SIM Academy to help SMEs in Singapore accelerate AI adoption and unlock new opportunities for productivity, innovation and growth.

As AI moves from experimentation to real-world deployment, many businesses continue to grapple with the complexities of implementation, Singtel said, observing that while AI has proven to be a powerful driver of productivity and growth, adoption among Singapore SMEs remains relatively low.

While digital adoption among SMEs in Singapore has grown significantly in recent years, Singtel said that many businesses continue to face challenges in fully realising value from new technologies, particularly in complex areas such as AI.

According to the Infocomm Media Development Authority’s (IMDA's) Singapore Digital Economy Report 2025*, only 14.5% of SMEs have implemented AI solutions, compared to 62.5% of larger enterprises — a wide competitive gap.

AI.dea aims to address this gap by making AI accessible, practical and secure for local businesses. The programme will equip SMEs with the capabilities to integrate AI into their operations and compete more effectively in an increasingly digital economy. To boost adoption, eligible SMEs will receive up to 90% in funding from SkillsFuture Singapore.

Ng Tian Chong, CEO of Singtel Singapore, said, “AI has quickly become a key driver of business transformation, but many organisations are still figuring out where to even begin. Singtel Singapore’s own journey has shown that success with AI requires more than just technology — it takes the right capabilities, governance and mindset.

"With AI.dea, we are bringing these lessons to SMEs, helping them to adopt AI applications before committing to full-scale deployment so they can realise tangible business outcomes.”

Ho Seong Kim, CEO of SIM Academy added: “As Singapore advances its National AI Strategy, SMEs — the foundation of our business ecosystem — must be equipped to participate meaningfully in this transformation. As the selected learning partner for this programme, we leverage our expertise in applied, outcome-driven learning to help SME leaders build in-house capabilities, develop actionable adoption strategies, and implement AI with confidence to drive tangible business outcomes.”

AI.dea is designed to help SMEs overcome common barriers to adoption, including limited in-house expertise, uncertainty around implementation, and concerns around data security and governance.

Through a structured, hands-on approach, participants will design, build and validate real-world use cases tailored to their business needs.

Participants will benefit from:

· Hands-on application: Design and test AI use cases through guided proof-of-concept development

· Expert guidance: Learn from practitioners with experience in scaling AI across organisations

· Governance and security: Build capabilities in AI governance, data protection and risk management

· Strategic roadmap development: Define AI ambition and develop a clear, actionable adoption plan

Advancing SME digital transformation

The AI.dea programme complements Singtel’s broader suite of SME-focused initiatives:

· TikTok Masterclass: A brand-building and e-commerce enablement programme that helps SMEs to strengthen their digital presence, connect with customers more effectively, and capture growth opportunities in the digital economy.

· Cyber Protect: A tripartite initiative by Singtel, Enterprise Singapore and IMDA to bolster SMEs’ cyber resilience through workshops, curated learning resources, and subsidised cyber solutions, enabling businesses to identify risks, adopt stronger cyber hygiene practices and better protect themselves against evolving cyber threats.

· Cyber Elevate: A training programme which provides cyber risk audits, resilience workshops, and mentorship to help SMEs prepare, detect, respond to, and recover from cyberattacks at heavily-subsidised rates, with support from law firm Drew & Napier and incident response firm Blackpanda as consultants.

· Defence Against Cyber Scams: Developed for large enterprises to upskill and reskill their employees to be better able to identify, combat and prevent scams.

· SPEED: A 15-month initiative aimed at helping SMEs decarbonise through education, energy-efficient technology deployment and continuous improvement strategies. The programme is designed to enable SMEs to go digital and achieve environmental goals at the same time.

As a SkillsFuture Queen Bee, Singtel plays a pivotal role in enabling enterprises – especially SMEs – to upskill, digitalise and innovate. Its end-to-end solutions – spanning mobility and connectivity, to cybersecurity, Internet of Things (IoT) and collaboration tools – are tailored to evolving business needs.

The programme fee is S$15,000 (before GST), with up to 90% funding available for eligible businesses under the Enhanced Training Support for SMEs programme, supported by SkillsFuture Singapore.

To qualify, companies must:

Singtel launches TikTok masterclass for SMEs

Singtel has launched a TikTok masterclass – a brand-building and e-commerce enablement programme, aimed at helping small and medium enterprises (SMEs) strengthen their digital presence, connect with customers more effectively, and capture growth opportunities in the digital economy.

Developed in partnership with SIM Academy, the masterclass will equip local enterprises with practical skills to create impactful content, leverage social platforms for business growth, and navigate the opportunities and risks of social commerce. The initiative is supported by SkillsFuture Singapore. Eligible participants from qualifying SMEs can get up to 90% funding for this programme.

Participants will receive hands-on training in content creation, livestream selling, e-commerce activation and cybersecurity – critical capabilities in today’s fast-evolving, mobile-first marketplace. Participants will also benefit from post-workshop support, including engagement with retail merchants to aid e-commerce transition and potential co-marketing opportunities.

Ng Tian Chong, CEO of Singtel Singapore, said, “With Asia’s young, mobile-first population and growing appetite for social commerce, it’s vital that our SMEs are equipped with smarter, faster ways to reach their customers. Singtel is proud to provide SMEs with the digital tools, platforms and training to grow and compete in today’s connected world. Our new TikTok Masterclass is the latest in our series of efforts to help SMEs achieve more in the digital economy."

Ho Seong Kim, CEO of SIM Academy added: “At SIM Academy, we focus on delivering applied, outcome-driven learning through learner-centric course design. The TikTok Masterclass reflects our commitment to equipping businesses with practical skills for their business outcomes in today’s fast-changing digital economy.”

The three-day TikTok Masterclass includes three key components:

• Training: Learn content creation, TikTok shop setup, and social selling techniques tailored for business growth on social platforms.

• Application: Gain practical, hands-on experience at Singtel’s TikTok Creator House, located at its 313@Somerset flagship store. Participants will get two hours’ complimentary use of the professional-grade studio to create and livestream content in a simulated selling environment.

• Cyber awareness: Develop an understanding of cybersecurity best practices for digital marketing and TikTok, to ensure safe and responsible online engagement.

As of 2023, 82% of SMEs in Singapore had adopted at least one digital solution, with 91% having started their digital journey – leading the Asia Pacific region. Despite this progress, fewer than half report fully successful implementation, underscoring the need for continued guidance and support.

This masterclass is part of Singtel’s commitment to help SMEs digitalise, innovate and grow. In September 2023, Singtel introduced Cyber Elevate to help businesses bolster their cyber resilience, followed by the SPEED programme in April 2025, which supports SMEs in digitalising their operations and aligning them with sustainability goals.

As a SkillsFuture Queen Bee, Singtel plays a pivotal role in enabling enterprises – especially SMEs – to upskill, digitalise and innovate. Its end-to-end solutions – spanning mobility and connectivity, to cybersecurity, Internet of Things (IoT) and collaboration tools – are tailored to evolving business needs, helping SMEs scale sustainably.

Details

The programme fee is S$3,000 per participant (before GST), with up to 90% funding available for eligible businesses under the Enhanced Training Support for SMEs programme, supported by SkillsFuture Singapore. To qualify, companies must meet the following requirements:

• Be registered and incorporated in Singapore

• Have a minimum 30% local shareholding by Singapore citizens or PRs

• Have an annual sales turnover of not more than S$100 M or employment size of fewer than 200 employees

Singtel plans to conduct 24 masterclasses over two years, with each class accommodating approximately 15 SMEs. Businesses interested in the programme can register their interest at https://www.singtel.com/business/smb/solutions/tiktok-masterclass

Singtel launches Expressions Through Art showcase

Singtel has launched the 3rd edition of Expressions Through Art, a showcase aimed at raising awareness of the talents and abilities of students from special education (SPED) schools in Singapore. The exhibition featuring 37 artworks by students across all 25 SPED schools in Singapore, will be held for the first time at Gardens by the Bay.

The artworks will be subsequently exhibited at the National Gallery Singapore and digitised versions will be displayed on the windows of six SMRT trains in December. This year’s edition features a combination of scenes from Gardens by the Bay, as well as depictions of animals and landscapes.

The campaign was kicked off by Singtel Group CEO Yuen Kuan Moon and Gardens by the Bay CEO Felix Loh. Yuen said: “Art is a powerful medium for expression, and we’re proud to be able to give these students a chance to shine through this initiative. We’re also glad to have partners like Gardens by the Bay, National Gallery Singapore, and SMRT who are helping to showcase the students’ talents in more locations so more people can appreciate the capabilities of these students, fostering a more empathetic and inclusive society.”

Singtel also supports SPED students through the Singtel Touching Lives Fund (STLF), its flagship corporate philanthropy programme. STLF has raised over S$58 M in support of the critical educational needs of children and youth with special needs across more than 20 charities, as well as for six SPED schools which offer customised education programmes.

As a lead-up to the Expressions Through Art 2024 campaign, 10 students were given a tour of the Supertree Grove at Gardens by the Bay and attended an art workshop where they translated their impressions of the Supertree Grove into creative art pieces. These were among the 37 artworks featured in this year’s campaign.

Aged between seven to 18 years old, the 44 students participating in the Expressions through Art 2024 campaign used watercolour paints, coloured pencils, and markers to bring their imaginations into vivid reality.

Pathlight School Principal Linda Kho said: “We are grateful for initiatives like Singtel’s Expressions Through Art that provide a platform for students with special needs to shine. Art is a powerful medium for self-expression and enables our students to express their unique perspectives and creativity. Opportunities like these not only showcase their talents and abilities, but also inspire them to continue developing their artistic passion and maximise their potential."

Noorizan Bte Sharif Foeddin, parent of Cerebral Palsy Alliance Singapore (CPAS) School (West) student-artist Nurshaqirah Ryhana Bte Shamsha added: "Events like Expressions Through Art help to build the confidence of children with disabilities, and I am incredibly proud that the talent and hard work of my daughter have been recognised. My daughter is also excited and pleased to have had her artwork selected for the art exhibitions, and we hope to be a part of similar events in the future.”

Details

The exhibition will be held at the North Colonnade near the Supertree Grove of the Gardens by the Bay from up to 22 November 2024, followed by the National Gallery Singapore from 9 to 22 December 2024. The digitised versions will be displayed on SMRT trains on the North-South, East-West and Circle lines from 9 to 31 December 2024.

Singtel has officially opened its new flagship store, Singtel Shop 313@Somerset. Located in the heart of Orchard Road, the 4,900 sq ft space presents state-of-the-art retail solutions that elevate the experience of customers who can shop, create, and be entertained. The new store is part of Singtel Singapore’s renewed commitment to enhance and improve the customer experience.

The launch of this flagship store is a significant milestone for Singtel, as it has been located at the Comcentre for the past 22 years. In a tribute to the previous store, several items were upcycled and reused, such as furniture in the customer service area. These and other environmentally-friendly features in the store, like energy-efficient fittings and recycling bins for the public to deposit their e- waste, demonstrate Singtel’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2045.

Ng Tian Chong, CEO, Singtel Singapore, said, “Every aspect of this store is a reflection of our hyperfocus on customer-centricity because our customers are our top priority. In keeping with this focus, we’re using more technology tools like data analytics to help us better understand the needs of our customers because we want to deliver the right products and services to them in the most frictionless manner possible. We want everyone who visits our store to feel valued and empowered.”

Catering to both consumers and small businesses requiring mobile, broadband and cybersecurity solutions, service delivery processes have been streamlined by deploying the latest digital technologies that shorten waiting times and offer more customisation with predictive analytics. Trained staff are also stationed throughout the store to provide onsite support.

There is a livestreaming booth for content creators and entrepreneurs to unleash their creativity as well as spaces for partner brands to engage and educate customers on their products and services. To cater to audiences like Millennials and Gen Zs, the new store will feature the world’s first TikTok Creator House in a telco shop. The creator house is a professional soundproofed studio equipped with 4K HD cameras, wireless microphones and custom-built production servers for the production of high-quality content. The facility is open to the public, and can be booked via Singtel’s website.

"We are thrilled to be working with a beloved brand like SingTel to bring our TikTok Creator House to life, a space where technology powers creativity, making video creation seamless.

"At the TikTok Creator House, we're looking forward to having local creators and businesses come together to create, to learn how to make engaging content and network with other like-minded creators here in Singapore," said Vanessa Brown, Head of Business Development APAC, TikTok.

The store also features CASETiFY’s latest collection of sustainable yet protective phone cases and accessories, including limited-edition designs by Singaporean photographer Andy Yong - a first in Singapore. Fans of the brand can create customised pieces within a day here.

“We’ve reimagined the store for the younger demographic and growing community of digital natives – who can use the tools, products, and facilities on offer to express themselves creatively. For those making careers on social media, they can even build their brands or services here. When customers come to our store, it will not be just a shopping trip but an experience – a place where they can connect, collaborate and co-create,” said Anna Yip, Deputy CEO, Singtel Singapore.

Getting served has been made even easier. Visitors can get a queue number by scanning a QR code. As they wait their turn, they can browse the e-catalogue and indicate which products and services they are interested in. This information is then channelled to Singtel staff to better understand the customers’ needs before meeting them, allowing for more personalised discussions.

The store has floor-to-ceiling curved LED screens that are used to create different moods depending on what products are being showcased at the time. The multipurpose area in the middle of the store can be further configured to support product launches, keynotes, and even masterclasses for the public.

The Singtel flagship store has always been the only outlet to offer all business-related services in one place. A dedicated small and medium sized business (SMB) service area has been set up, offering solutions like mobile, broadband, and cybersecurity to support their corporate needs.

Singtel, Great Eastern introduce home and contents insurance

Singtel and Great Eastern have launched Singtel Home Protect Flexi, a flexible home and contents insurance plan. The plan is tied to the customer’s Singtel broadband subscription, and will be automatically updated with a new address if the customer moves. This means homeowners will be able to enjoy seamless home protection without having to worry about a lapse in coverage or having to remember to update their address. The no-contract plan also gives customers the ability to cancel anytime.

Gilbert Chuah, Head of Financial and Lifestyle Services, Singtel, said: “We continually harness our wealth of insights as Singapore’s largest broadband provider to bring more convenience and flexibility to our customers. Our new Home Protect Flexi, for instance, eliminates the hassle of address updates for our home protection insurance customers when they relocate, providing seamless home protection that adapts to their evolving needs. We look forward to co-creating more value-added offerings with partners such as Great Eastern to enrich our customers’ lives.”

Jimmy Tong, MD, General and Group Insurance, Great Eastern, said: “At Great Eastern, we constantly seek ways to make insurance more seamless and convenient. Our new plan in collaboration with Singtel provides ease of portability and uninterrupted coverage for homeowners in the event they re-locate, or allows for termination at any time with no lock in period. By eliminating these traditional constraints, we are able to provide greater flexibility and value for our customers.”

Singtel Home Protect Flexi is an enhancement of Singtel’s home insurance offering, Singtel Home Protect, which is currently available with a one or two-year commitment. The new Singtel Home Protect Flexi, priced at S$8 a month, continues to provide homeowners with the same comprehensive coverage for various types of residential housing, of up to S$80,000 for household content and renovations, and up to S$500,000 for personal liability.

As a launch promotion, all first-time customers will enjoy the first two months free from now until 31 December 2023. To qualify for the plan, customers need to be an existing Singtel broadband subscriber. The plan is available now at all Singtel shops, Singtel’s website or via the customer care hotline, 1688.

Singtel Bill Protect will waive bills for customers who are retrenched

Singtel and Etiqa Insurance Singapore have launched Singtel Bill Protect, a complimentary insurance plan to cushion Singaporeans from adverse economic situations and stay connected even if they face financial difficulty. Retrenchments in Singapore have risen for three quarters in a row, according to the latest Ministry of Manpower labour market estimates*.

Against the backdrop of rising economic and job uncertainty, the Bill Protect plan helps Singtel customers who face financial hardship due to a loss of employment with waivers on their upcoming Singtel mobile and fixed broadband bills.

Anna Yip, CEO, Consumer Singapore, Singtel, said: “Staying connected has become an essential part of modern lifestyle. That frees up their mind to focus on other more pressing priorities.”

Raymond Ong, CEO, Etiqa Insurance Singapore, said: “We are excited by the Singtel-Etiqa telcoassurance partnership, which will see the launch of initiatives and plans to achieve our vision of closing the protection gap that exists in Singapore, and help customers achieve peace of mind during difficult moments in their lives. The Singtel Bill Protect is a positive step towards achieving this vision by providing coverage for retrenchment and accidental death to support affected customers and their families.”

Eligible insured persons** who become retrenched can get their Singtel bills mobile and fixed broadband waived for up to six months, up to a maximum of S$600. In addition to retrenchment, the plan also covers accidental death***.

Singtel and Zip, a global buy now, pay later (BNPL) player, have announced that Zip’s Pay Later service will be launched in Singapore on the Singtel Dash app.

The new service provides an alternate payment option for Dash customers, giving them the flexibility to choose between paying for their purchases immediately with Dash, or paying later with Zip. Dash customers can use Zip’s Pay Later service for in-store or online purchases from merchants such as Klook, Omnidesk, OSIM and Singtel.

Gilbert Chuah, Head of Financial and Lifestyle Services at Consumer Singapore, Singtel said, “Many of our customers want greater choice and control over managing their finances and our partnership with Zip provides just that with an alternative payment method that is transparent and flexible. This collaboration adds to Dash’s rapidly growing financial services business and we are working on expanding our suite of financial products and services to meet our customers’ diverse needs.”

According to FIS’ 2021 Global Payment Report*, BNPL is projected to be the fastest-growing payment method for Singapore, with transaction volume expected to increase from US$210 million in 2020 to US$1.3 billion by 2024. A study commissioned by Zip also showed that 56% of e-commerce users in Singapore have used or will consider using a BNPL service.

Over the next six months, Zip will be rolling out more payment schemes and bringing on board more than 2,000 merchants through partner agreements with AsiaPay, Razer Merchant Services and HitPay.

Details:

Zip’s current payment scheme offers four interest-free instalments across six weeks.

Customers can use the Pay Later service once they have to set up a Zip account through the Dash app.

It's the Angs vs the Huangs and 5G on Sentosa in Singtel's 2022 Chinese New Year film

Singtel is greeting the year of the tiger with its annual short film for Chinese New Year, celebrating the season’s spirit of bonding with family and community. Titled The Hunt For The Lucky Tiger, the film is the third instalment in Singtel’s festive film series featuring two rival families who have endeared themselves to Singaporeans after their madcap but meaningful altercations in previous films.

The film serves as a showcase for 5G use cases, such as Garuda Robotics’ autonomous drone systems which are currently undergoing trials at the 5G@Sentosa testbed*, a public-private sector collaboration led by the Government Technology Agency (GovTech), the Sentosa Development Corporation (SDC), and Singtel.

Set against the backdrop of the pandemic, this year’s film sees the Ang and Huang families (in red, or 'ang' in Hokkien and Teochew, and yellow, or 'huang' in Mandarin Chinese respectively) go on staycation during the Chinese New Year break instead of travelling overseas. They end up in the same hotel on the 5G-powered island of Sentosa, sparking fresh contention and comedic rivalry between the families when they run into each other.

They also sign up for the same treasure hunt as part of their staycation itinerary. During the hunt, the families pit their wits and skills against each other in search of a lucky tiger that is brought to life via augmented reality.

They also go head-to-head in an immersive, remote-controlled car race powered by Singtel’s 5G network. The race is hotly contested, with both nominated drivers able to show their skills in controlling their cars with the lag-free next-generation connectivity.

The story takes a dramatic turn when Ah Boy, the youngest Ang son, goes missing midway through the search for the tiger. Everyone rallies around Ah Boy’s mother, setting aside their differences to search for him. Mr Ang even goes as far as to call for a search and rescue drone from Garuda Robotics to locate his son. Thanks to 5G, he can capture drone footage and movements via live video streaming on his mobile device...

Lian Pek, VP, Group Strategic Communications and Brand, Singtel, said, “Chinese New Year exemplifies the importance of family, friends and relationships, closely reflecting Singtel’s spirit of celebrating connections. As we rejoice with loved ones during this festive period, it is a timely reminder to treasure the relationships we have made, especially in light of recent global events that have tested these bonds.”

Lian added, “As we move into a new year, the film is also a look to the future, showcasing 5G technology that Singapore can capitalise on to underpin economic recovery and our journey into the digital economy. As a leader in 5G innovation, we’re offering audiences a glimpse of tomorrow, from augmented reality enhanced entertainment to drone applications powered by hyperconnectivity.

"5G has the unbridled potential to redefine experiences and operations across multiple verticals and we hope to empower the broader community by harnessing the benefits of this next-generation technology.”

Singtel has achieved 75% coverage and its 5G network has been named Singapore’s fastest by Ookla for the second time running**.

Singtel marks National Day with Olympics film celebrating the Singapore spirit of resilience

Singtel has chosen an Olympics theme for its annual National Day (August 8) tribute.

Source: Singtel. Sprinter Shanti Pereira stands alone in the dark on a running track.
Source: Singtel. Sprinter Shanti Pereira shares her story in Leading Through Uncertainty, Singtel's National Day tribute for 2021.

The film features some of the country’s sports heroes representing Singapore at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. Titled Leading Through Uncertainty, the film tells the story of the athletes’ journey in the lead-up to the games against the background of COVID-19 cancelling the games in 2020.

Swimmer and Olympic medallist Joseph Schooling, shuttler Loh Kean Yew, fencer Kiria Tikanah and sprinter Shanti Pereira star in the film, offering a rare glimpse of their anxieties and vulnerabilities as they persist with their training, revealing the indefatigable resilience that lies at the heart of the Singapore spirit.

The four athletes reflect on the past 18 months and how they’ve navigated the choppy journey preparing for the Olympics, including dealing with the constant uncertainty of whether the Olympics would even go ahead. While they struggle to maintain their physical condition, mental focus and motivation over a protracted period of time, they also gain a fresh understanding of what it means to be a winner – not necessarily acquiring an Olympic medal, but building tenacity and resilience to keep fighting even under the most trying of circumstances.

As Schooling puts it in the film, “A winner is a person who can look adversity in its face. We’re all going to go through a lot of adverse moments in our careers, and each time hurdles appear, hundreds of people crumble. But the people who can go over hurdle after hurdle during their entire career –these are the true winners.”

Likewise, Loh said, “A winner is someone who doesn’t give up. You only fail if you stop trying. As long as you keep trying, you’re a winner.”

Aileen Tan, Group Chief People and Sustainability Officer at Singtel said, “Our athletes’ journey to the Olympics has been nothing short of inspiring. Making it to the games in any given year would be a coup but making it under the current circumstances takes a lot of grit and determination. As we mark our second National Day under the cloud of COVID, the film is a way of celebrating the Singapore spirit of resilience that has brought us this far.

"Like our athletes, we’ve all been fighting the good fight, keeping our spirits up and moving forward inspite of COVID. Yes, the journey has been fraught with uncertainty, false starts and U-turns, but we hope the film will inspire us all to press on and keep trying.”

Tan added, “As a homegrown company and vested member of the community, supporting our national athletes has long been a key commitment. Our support for sports is also part and parcel of our differentiated programming on Singtel TV, enjoyed by generations of Singaporeans.”

To catch the live action from the Tokyo Olympics, Singtel customers can tune in to all 14 Mediacorp channels for free on Singtel TV CH 21-34 and Singtel TV GO. It is also available on Singtel CAST to all consumers, including non-Singtel customers.

Leading Through Uncertainty is part of Singtel’s ongoing branded content campaign, built around stories that reflect the Singtel Group’s values of community, family, diversity and inclusivity. Last year’s festive film campaign also paid tribute to the Singapore spirit of tenacity and perseverance against the backdrop of the health crisis.

Singtel is a long-time supporter of Team Singapore, having donated S$2.5 million to the Singapore National Olympic Council to help fund the training of athletes since 2012.

With the recent announcement of the Wild Rift SEA Icon Series, the stage is set for Riot Games Southeast Asia’s expansion of mobile e-sports.

“Singapore has always been an important market for us as a mobile-first nation, and we are thrilled to partner with Singtel to deliver a world-first with RiotGO.
